Looking for anywhere at all, its just to teach a beginner. Normally I'd think St. Cerque, but it looks closed at the moment.

Any ideas? Dont really wanna go as far as verbier, leysin, etc...

We have met up with friends flying into Geneva at Morzine over Christmas and Chamonix and couple of years ago. The town Avoriaz above Morzine is worth a visit too.

les rousses just across the border from St cergue has some runs open and conditions look as good as anywhere. Also i think the Col de faucille above divonne, gex has now opened.

We have been to Col de Faucille just a week ago or so and it was working. It's a great place, both for skiiers and sleds. The 4 saisons bobsled speed thingie was closed, though. It was very cold when we were there, -10 so beware.

St cergue beginner area opened earlier in the week and they ate prepping for the weekend. Main slopes now pisted.
