Re: Gruyere road biking event

Good to meet you all yesterday. After racing last year, I found this year's event was even better - slightly cooler but still sunny and clear, and I did a much better job of pacing the race, so knocked 33 mins off last years. Pleased

Not so happy to hear ChrisW calling it a sprint though...

Re: Gruyere road biking event

For anyone interested, the 2011 edition of the Gruyere Cycling Tour is on Sunday 28th August.

Entries are open now at CHF98 if you sign up before the 15th, or CHF120 on the day.

All details are here but to summarize, you can chose either the 85km route or the 125km route, both of which take in some good climbs in the beautiful Gruyere region.

On the 125km route almost everyone will be on road bikes, but the range of speeds is large from serious racers aiming to "win" (even if it is a sportive rather than an actual race) down to those happy just to complete the course. The 85km route is a fair bit easier as it misses both Col du Pillon and Col des Mosses.
