Re: Skiing/Snowboarding 2010/2011

with the onset of summer I'm thinking that I might have to pack up my snowboard now until next season.

Before I do, is it worth checking out any of the glaciers over the summer? I've heard mixed reports, with some people saying the conditions are too wet and slushy and others saying that it's great fun.

If you have been please let me know what you think.

It is said that Saas fee is good as well as Diablerets once one is on the glacier proper.

I went to the latter in may last year and it was pretty fun.

The trouble with summer glacier skiing is it is generally pretty flat, it's all surface lifts once you get there and it takes ages to get to. But it is quite fun, the best of the skiing tends to be early in the morning when you can have pretty good snow conditions.

And don't forget the very long tow lifts.
My knees don't like me after a few miles of those things.
