Re: Golf [Basel area]

A friend of mine has played it a few times.

It is quite a good course from what I here, but has poor drainage - not great this year.

Basel golf club is in France, very good course, but I would imagine more expensive and a closed shop.

There are a few more in Germany and France.

Going south, Rheinfelden are building a 9 hole course, Frick has 6 or 9, though more suitable for grazing thaan golf.
Where I work (www.golfheidental.ch) is the nearest 18 hole to Basel, we have a quite a few members from BL - they offer a trial membership (3 months) for a good price

Contact me direct through forum if you have any more questions

Re: Golf [Basel area]

I'm (still) a beginner after many years and I'm looking for a gold (resort) for a long weekend, not more than two hours away (by train as I don't have a car) where I can spend the weekend taking private lessons.

Any recommendations?

Re: Golf [Basel area]

For a resort you will have to go out of Switzerland.

There are no real resorts in Switzerland.

Re: Golf [Basel area]

Hi all,
I am assigned to Basel on a project and its playing hell with my golf.
Can anyone tell me if there are any practice facilities within reasonable distance of the Basel area?

Re: Golf [Basel area]

If you have a car then I highly recommend the following courses:

Golf D'Alsace (towards Colmar, France) - links style course playable all year round and always well presented. Irish owner called David

Golf & Country Club Basel (Hagental, France) - parkland style course with plenty of variation. Good in the summer but tends to get very muddy in winter.

Golf du Rhin (France) - parkland style course with some of the best greens in the region. Worth a shot if you want a demanding course off the tee.

Hope this helps...

There is a drivin range in Reinfelden which is certainly within driving distance. Let me know if you need any help finding it.

Re: Golf [Basel area]

Sebastian
Thanks
Now back in the UK - golf restored to normal
I may be back this autumn in which case I'll certainly try your suggestions.

It seems there are also practice facilities in Allschwil
