Does anyone know of a Mysore class or self practice group in Lausanne? I am moving there in February and would like a daily or at least a couple of times a week practice. If there are any Ashtanga people out there, would they be interested in a self practice group? We have one in the UK and it's great to practice with people.

Hi! My spouse and me we will back sometime Feb-May in Lausanne and we would like to establish a self-practice group / classes (she just started teaching primary series). So let's keep in touch !!! Otherwise if you search in Google or equivalent 'Ashtanga Lausanne' you will get some results. As far as I know there are not any regular ashtanga in Lausanne or region and nearest must be in Geneva.... And all the best with the move. Bala

I'd also be interested in a group class. when you get settled here make a post in this here thread and we can maybe look at organizing something.

i practice ashtanga as well, but i haven't found any groups/classes here so far. i'd be happy to join a group practice as i've been doing it on my own since we came here, and it's just not the same!

Lovely, it seems like already about five in the group!!! We are currently doing group self practice in Jakarta and it is really great way of keep up with the practice!! :-)

Hi, I just moved to Lausanne several weeks ago. Im excited to read this post, I have would love to practice mysore style with a group. It sounds like more asthangi's will arrive at the beginning of next year but for those that are already in Lausanne; lets get in touch to see if we can arrange something.

Just in case a friend of mine has a yoga studio in Nyon and he has Mysore style / self practice on Fridays at 19h.

Hi, I went to the mysore class, in Nyon. I was on time (friday at 19h) - but nobody there, a dark studio. Ofcourse I should have checked by email or phone before hand, but i did not expect it to be closed
Besides that this unfortunately went wrong I would love a mysore place in Lausanne. Lets keep our eyes/ears open for a location, or if anyone is in touch with the local yoga teacher perhaps something can be arranged.

nah. teachers of astanga here i don't know and but in finding a place i could help. i would be interested (YAY!) in a self practice group

Yeah!, it seems we have a small handful of people interested, and more coming. To me a self practice group would be perfect; motivating each other by practicing side/side. What kind of locations did you have in mind? If any of you is interested and able in meeting for a tea to make better plans let me know!

I did notice that the following studio in Lausanne is mentioning starting Mysore in January. I wrote the studio an email just now to inquire what she is planning.

Hello Fellow Ashtangis!!!

Just wondering if the heat is still up for self practice? I will be back en of January and if there is interest will start looking for a place.

For frequency of the sessions I was thinking 6.30-9.00 am (people can come and practice between this time), Monday to Friday... in Lausanne centre.

Any thoughts welcomed.... I would also appreciate if those who really would like be part of the self practice to let me know....

Just checked and there are lots of replies! We will move to Lausanne in March, and have space in our flat in the centre of Lausanne for a self practice group of 6-8 people. I will also start teaching Ashtanga once I arrive--I have been teaching for 7 years here in the UK. I'm not authorised, have not been to Mysore, but my teacher is Nancy Gilgoff and she is the first western woman to learn directly from Pattabhi Jois. John Scott is also our teacher. I teach primary and Intermediate series.
For a larger class I will need a bigger space, I will get in touch with local studios after i move, and hopefully can start regular classes.
But for me it would be great to practice with others, in the evening or morning. Maybe we should meet for coffee, or meet and practice once we have moved in. Very exciting to find other Ashtangis!

I am the keeper of the Temple of the yoga at Nyon ( www.templeyoga.ch ) If you wish it, I open a course of Mysore Style, on Friday at 7 pm. But only if you are serious yogis.

Made experience the year pass or I opened a course Mysore Style, We were 6 at first to finish only. It is for that I closed the course.
The Temple of the yoga is opened to you,you just need to come.
