Indoor Volleyball in Zurich?

Does anyone know if there are any volleyball clubs/courts/teams around central Zurich that I could join? (sand, grass or indoor)

Thanks!

Re: Volleyball in Zurich?

Since this isn't an event, I'm moving it to help and tips.

There are some open air courts near the "beach" on the Limmat, between the Marriot Hotel and the Kornhausbrücke. I don't play, so I'm not sure if it's organised by a club. Anyway, pop along while it's still sunny and you'll find people.

Re: Volleyball in Zurich?

Zürich has a major professional club called volero http://www.volero.ch . That should be a good starting point, they should be able to give you more information aboutl ocal facilities etc.

Re: Volleyball in Zurich?

Thanks Chip. I can't speak (or read) German, but I've just emailed the club. Hopefully they'll point me in the right direction. Though I am a bit concerned about finding my place in a professional club. I would call myself more of a recreational player, but maybe it's a good place to start?

I had a chance to stroll down to the "beach" today and found the courts as well as some friendly folks who I picked up a few games with. I haven't played in over a year, but that was some of the most fun I've had in a long time.

I emailed the webmaster who was quite helpful. I've exchanged a few other emails with one of their coaches and I'll be "trying out" on Monday night to see where I can fit into their club.

This is one happy volleyball player All thanks to English Forum.

I'd be interested in playing volleyball though not at a serious level! I used to play for the school team many moons ago and am probably a little rusty....

Re: Volleyball in Zurich?

I am on the case. My friend and his girlfriend play, (what's that called?) intramural (or whatever) volleyball. I'm gonna get the information and post it. Come to think of it, I'd like to play me some volleyball too!!!

Re: Volleyball in Zurich?

I played volley like hundred years ago, and I'd like to play something again. Does anybody know if there are some kinds of volley classes or something?

Indoor volleyball in Zurich?

Have read a few posts about Beach volleyball in Zurich - I would love to join! Anyone interested in indoor volleyball for the cold winter months? I have no idea where the best place to play would be, but it's such a great social sport! Anyone interested?

Re: Indoor Volleyball in Zurich?

It's not really much help to you unfortunately, as the other posts are mostly old, but we might as well have it all together. I did a search for Volleyball Zürich on the site to find it the older Thread.
There is some stuff under Google. ¨
Volleyball
but I don't know if you can do much with it. If you do find somewhere, it would be great if you came back and put in another post to say so.
