It's the way the human race is headed though don't you think? When I first watched the movie "Gattaca" (science fiction flick with a two tiered human society, the perfect build and imperfects) I thought it was way off in the future. Now, I'm not so sure. We humans are really trying to tweak nature to represent our interpretation of perfection. I don't know if that's our true rôle in natural evolution or whether we've just taken it upon ourselves to take over the management of the planet and all the species that have the (mis) fortune of sharing it with us.

And the question is, which set of parents wouldn't want a perfect baby with all the bits in the right places? Nature isn't kind to mis-formed or disabled animals, it's only humans that accommodate physically and mentally disable people based on emotional and heartfelt caring because we feel that we all have the same right to a life of fulfillment and purpose. That's probably blown this debate out of context of this thread.....
One could say that we already have a two tier society, look at the Americans and their obsession with having their perfectly normal teeth yanked from their skulls and having 'un-natural' plastic teeth implanted in their jaws, and the resulting elitism they show to un implanted individuals.
since the 1800 they have repealed the 'you can't marry your cousin' law, and we don't have a race of half human ‘morlocks’ loping around the place.

Are you friends with our chum OSueco per chance? You'd make a lovely couple.

Pray tell, using simple language so that all the peeps here can clearly understand you, why would scrapping the current incest law in any way legalize rape?

Whats wrong with the language i used? Isn't that English to you?

Why i think scrapping the incest Law is in a way legalizing rape? because in my eyes its almost the same. I am entitled to my own opinion right? Otherwise whats the point of having a forum? After all, someone can use this loophole to get away with rape. Don't you think?

And no, i am not a friend of the person you are referring to.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion. And other people are entitled to question it. By joining in a thread, you are engaging in discussion.

Now tell us why you think rape and incest are comparable. We may be able to unmuddle you.

Because MOST cases involving incest involve minors , which is statutory rape. Between Father-Daughter and Older--younger (underage) siblings.

We've just presented the free world with 12 pages of why we're discussing the abolition of an established law regarding consensual intercourse between directly related, legally aged adults which in no way affects the law with regards to abusing minors (or indeed legal adults) with regards to rape or other forms of sexual abuse. No one needs to try and defend the latter.

Study the facts? You have monkey for your avatar and you were going about nature this nature that. Ever seen monkeys in action?

MOST does not mean ALL. So why should two ADULTS who are in a relationship by choice be considered criminal and on the same level as someone who rapes a stranger or their own under age kid?

Re-read the question before my answer.

Re-read my answer.

Go back further and read my views on consenting adults.

You just might get it.

Agree with the second part of your post, but would suggest you leave the first part to one side as your "My Little Pony" avatar may leave you open for caustic comments and ridicule in return...

We've been through this over and over and over again.

We have child abuse laws and they are seen as sufficient.

You think a law which covers ALL cases, should persist when it's only (possibly) helpful in MOST cases. Even how helpful it is is questioned by the Bundesrat.

It was once claimed that a higher percentage of child abuse was homosexual and that was used as an argument against legalising that. Equally ridiculous.

Laws should address the actual harmful behaviour, not supposedly associated things, which might end up criminalising consenting adults. You seem to think that ruining a few adults lives is a fair price for maintaing a law which is redundant anyway.

That wasn't quite where the argument was going... There are several sub-threads and tangents within. I don't think anyone is accusing consenting incestuous adults as rapists.

Well, i was thinking by removing the incest law you are giving the Psychos out there another Loophole they can exploit to get a way with such crime. That's why i said it that way - It is "Like"

How many times have I said that I don't ?

This thread has evolved into a wider incest discussion, whilst remaining acceptably on topic. Incest is a far more severe form of Rape, the law should not be dropped, but amended and punishments/deterrents increased.
