Cyrus, you made my day! Continuing your list could be material for a whole new thread.
Unfortunately, I still have work to do. Of course, other less worthy leeches could probably just post all day thanks to the fact that downtrodden business owners are banned by bureaucrats from looking at their employees internet usage.

This is only the tip of the iceberg.
Worst of all: The trains actually work.

The OP will be very unhappy here.

if you like libertarianism, then you will have a hard time finding a party that suits you in Switzerland.
But probably the closest one would be the FDP.

Tell me!

My daughter just spent two weeks in the US, with a side-trip to Canada, by train.

NYC - Montreal took something like 12 hours to go 300 miles (500 km)!

OK, only 11, as one hour was the border check!

Tom

Sure, isn't providing staff with internet usage what employers are there for?

I'm sure the much-suffering BA or Aer Lingus cabin crews would love to live in Switz...

Re: Swiss People's Party & Free Democrat Party

Adding to Cyrus' vision of Switzerland being the libertarian nightmare:

- Practically free universities paid for by the downtrodden taxpayer
- State subsidised (OMG!) clubs and associations
- Rent controls giving most of the power to those freeloading tenants
- State mandated maternity leave, private companies forced to pay those freeloading mothers (and pregnant women can't be fired)

One could go on and on.
