| | Re: Swiss Euroskepticism | Quote: | | | | | But actually my real motive was to start a lasting discussion with some new people and I succeeded. | | | | | But are you actually interested in learning about Switzerland as it is, or merely seeking to have your preconceptions confirmed?
You know that Switzerland is about as far from being an American's idea of a libertarian paradise as it's possible for a country to be?
You'd be better off going to Greece. They have lots of laws, but nobody takes a blind bit of notice of them, nor does anyone pay any tax. Most people have guns under their beds, too, inherited from grandads who used them to take potshots at the occupying German army.
You'd love it.

Just wait till some Swiss skinhead overhears you talking loudly in a Texan accent on the train, and tell me you'll be ok... |

You'd love it. | | | | | I concur. Better food, better weather, nice beaches, good-looking girls.
Hang on. What am I doing here?

You'd love it. | | | | | Sure, of course I want to know about current Switzerland.
Ya'll are confirming the preconception that the Swiss aren't very personable. Why are the leaders of this forum driving off a new member? Ich verstahe nicht.
And by the way, if you knew anything about me, you'd know that Greece is the last place I'd want to be.

There must be some somewhere!
(Actually there are a few down the Gold Coast, but I think they're more into the fashion than the politics)
