| | Re: Swiss Euroskepticism | Quote: | | | | | Switzerland is 100% correct for being a euroskeptic, in my eyes. This goes along with maintaining their own currency. These two allow for a Swiss economy that is more stable and independent for multiple reasons.
What are other views on the matter? | | | | | As a Swiss native, I totally agree. I do not know every single economical detail about entering the EU, however, like you say about the currency, our currency is one of our roots. It's part of history.
When you see everything that's going on with the UE, it does not seem very friendly.
I think Swiss people like to be discrete but also like when the rest of the world talks about us |

| | Re: Swiss Euroskepticism | Quote: | | | | | Bush relation? | | | | | I'm not sure why your drew that conclusion, although I know that it's not a positive one. If your studying my geography purely, you should have assumed I was just as easily a Clinton relative. He used to be governor of Arkansas.

Also, I find it interesting that most of you Swiss have avatars that involve some sort of America in them. I was under the impression that the Swiss were fairly patriotic.

I literally had to backspace the ya'll and redo it. But no; I am no cheat.

And by the way, those "dyslexic rednecks" are the same people that made this country an extremely commanding power in the global community within a very short time (relative to European countries).

After all it is the ENGLISH forum, which does tend to give the game away just a bit!

OK, can I just say why I think you're being picked on?
Your 1st post is a somewhat contentious remark about the EU (that Switzerland is not part of, nor likely to be so in the near future) and you continue to eulogise about a country that you admit to know very little about. You then make simplistic presumptions about Swiss naturalisation, a long-winded, often stressful process that many of us have been through. You have to realise that many of the people on EF have a deep affection for the country (or not, as the case may be), yet many certainly have a detailed knowledge of it and its people. Notwithstanding that, your overt political ideologies will definitely ruffle a lot of feathers in here.
If you'd started off a little more polite and a lot more humble, you probably would have had a far better receptoin than you did.
Having said all that, I do agree with you on the EU.

LOL @ Generalization | | | | | The "veterans" of this forum must pride themselves in being very unwelcoming. And if I felt that I needed a defense for my insufficient quoting, I would tell you that I am a novice at using forums. I'm sorry that is such a crime.
