This is the latest expansion plan for Streetview.

Are they taking (to) the piste?



Zermatt News In German.

Rough translation:

Google Street view awards the slopes Prize for the most popular ski resort of Switzerland. Fast vote for Zermatt and win.

Up to 14. February 2011 runs voting contest. Choose arena, from Zermatt with the Aletsch with Saas-Fee Verbier, Gstaad, Engadin - St. Moritz, Andermatt and many others. Finally, the most popular Swiss ski area is selected.

Competition Switzerland Tourism gives away an attractive Prize: stay in the winner ski resort for two people with 3 nights and a 3-day ski pass. This means becomes the most popular ski area Zermatt chosen winners drive might soon in Zermatt over 350 kilometres of pistes.

Ski-slope images on Google Street view
Reason for voting and competition is the website of ski-slope images on Google Street view. For a snowmobile sweeps this winter fotografierend the slopes as the first in the popular ski resort. I hope it is Zermatt! Far be seen mainly towns and tours at Google Street view. Now also the Swiss ski area is the train.

Good luck filming the steep off camber pistes. Unless they attach it to a snow cat. I like the idea.

The last time I saw it, it was standing in the entrance of the Google office here in Zurich. As many here pointed out, I wonder how it will handle in the steeper pistes. Maybe they should make the equipment lighter and mount in on a skier!?
