According to Tagesanzeiger here (in German language) top Zurich judges and prosecutors got tickets to FIFA football finals at the prices printed on the tickets; which were much less than the average foot ball fan had to pay.

What was that aphorism about judging a man by the company he keeps?

I'm not sure who tops whom in the sleaze stakes:

Former Swiss International, Ramon Vega is considering standing as President of FIFA. As a Hedge Fund Manager he is obviously very well qualified

Seems as if the Russia 2018 was a done deal before the voting even started. Will FIFA reimburse the unsucessful candidates?

Gotta say FIFA is awash with money. After February's presidency election of all those murky looking characters I guess FIFA will decided to wash down the decks and offer a full refund for the basic costs but not all the behind the scenes costs. Which will then lead to lawsuits.
Seems now is the time to demand a re-vote. Not that it'll go anywhere.

I cannot determine from any of the reports of this taped conversation / interview, when it was recorded.
Initially I thought it was from before the initial Russia success announcement.
But now it seems like it was recorded on Wednesday this week. If that is the case he seems to have gone rogue and simply trying to stir up a hornets nest.
He probably wants to rub the nose in of the English FA who stood up alone in 2011 at the FIFA Congress and called for Blatter to go on their own, while Blatter and his cronies made speeches asking the English FA not to upset the FIFA family. Grrrrrrh

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

Just look at this shower of shi*e.

Reforms will be slow:
http://uk.mobile.reuters.com/article...51103?irpc=932

Platini's integrity checks to be postponed :
http://www.espnfc.com/blog/fifa/243/...-check-on-hold

Bahrain Sheik refutes his involvement shopping players who protested:
http://www.theguardian.com/football/...est-presidency

South African candidate says FIFA sponsors were wrong to ask for Blatter to be dropped:
http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN0SS29Y20151103

None of the FIFA 'family' who can vote want any change probably because they could almost all be prosecuted for their small part in their grubby Thiefdom/Fiefdom/FIFAdom.
The family is so out of touch with the outside world, it is to time for a new organisation (a rival one if necessary) outside of Switzerland. I think it is the only solution that 'might' change things.

Russia should be banned from athletics competition, a World Anti-Doping Agency commission report has recommended.

Wada's independent commission examined allegations of doping, cover-ups, and extortion in Russian athletics, which also implicated the IAAF, the sport's world governing body.

It says London 2012 was "sabotaged" by "widespread inaction" against athletes with suspicious doping profiles.

Russia were also accused of running a "state-supported" doping programme.

Link here.

The IAAF has cancelled its annual awards gala and opened disciplinary proceedings against the son of former president Lamine Diack and three others including the world athletics' governing body's former treasurer and ex-doping chief. Link here!

Indeed - the report on the Russian doping scandal makes impressive reading (available from WADA's internet site). Apparently Russian state security officials popped into the independent testing lab weekly to make sure that all the "right" test results were found.

Will Lord Coe have the ... err what it takes to boot Russia out? Mind you he has been close to all this scandal for a long time without feeling a need to express his disgust.

Russian Sport's minister Vitaly Mutko:
  • was responsible for overseeing the Soviet era style doping test labs.
  • issued direct orders to “manipulate particular samples”.
  • is a FIFA executive committee member.
  • is now under investigation by FIFA (whatever that entails is anybody's guess these days).
  • and headed Russia’s successful 2018 World Cup bid, during which he suggested English football is corrupt.

Seb Coe is such a crony just like Blatter and David Cameron. Sticking up for all the old boy network in professional situations and allowing friendships to influence the way he deals with those close to him.
Ridiculous in such a public role.
These errors of judgement reoccur because there is no one next to these men who are brave enough to tell it to them like it really is.

His interviews tonight on BBC, ITV and Channel 4 UK channels left me very underwhelmed and as VP for 7 years he must have poor connections not to have picked up on rumours. I think he should fall on his sword now to save face, but he'd just be replaced by another part of the furniture.
Hmm

Some funny Seb Coe Anagrams attached (I don't think 'Dick Pound' needs any anagrams ;-) ).
