looks like he is losing his mind. this little 'emotional breakdown' he had earlier may have hurt him a bit more than he is acknowledging.

Seb will keep fighting and try to extend the final verdict to after the February congress.
Preparing for the Ernest Saunders defence?

The principle being that it's all just a matter of price?

You don't climb to the top of an important international organisation by being altruistic.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

I don't really understand why he thinks he has to fight as the evidence is really against him but he does have a point about being banned from going to football matches, at 79 years old couldn't he at least be 'allowed' to see out his days watching his favourite game from the stands (or boxes)?

According to the Beeb, "Despite the ban, both Blatter and Platini will be allowed to attend matches - including Euro 2016 in France - if they buy tickets in a private capacity".

We know Platini has the cash (if he's a good saver) to buy his own tickets. I do hope Blatter can afford to buy his own too.

both were cleared from corruption. the ban would have been for life if they were convicted of corruption

Apparently it's a consequence of a "non-serious medical procedure".

So far there's only a verdict by the the internal ethics comittee.

Misappropriation is an "Offizialdelikt", i.e. the the attorney general is obliged to investigate. With at least 2mln at stake and considering all the publicity they must have started investigating already.

Granted, so far it's just innuendo and hearsay. However, I find it simply inconceivable for Blatter to be part of the innermost circle for 40 years and at the helm for almost twenty years yet still know nothing and be completely innocent. He's far too intelligent for that. Any woman is far more likely to be a virgin mother even before the introduction of IVF.

agree. this outcome will give the Swiss authorities even more evidence. Would a Offizialdelikt be considered as criminal law? After that there will be questions from the tax man, etc

Sepp Blatter has been stripped of his De Montfort University, Leicester honorary Doctorate degree

Meanwhile Nick Davies, the IAAF’s deputy general secretary, has resigned after the leaking of an email in which he suggested a “very secret” plan to delay the naming of Russians who were guilty of doping until after the world championships in Moscow in 2013.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

"Michel Platini has formally withdrawn his candidacy for the Fifa presidency" finally facing reality!

More news from the IAAF; Gabriel Dollé, the former head of the International Association of Athletics Federations’ anti-doping unit, banned for five years.
Banned for life were the former IAAF marketing consultant Papa Massata Diack, the son of the former longstanding president Lamine; the former Russia athletic federation head and IAAF treasurer, Valentin Balakhnichev, and Alexei Melnikov, the former head coach of Russia’s race-walking and long-distance running programmes.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

Jérôme Valcke, the suspended secretary general of Fifa and Sepp Blatter’s long-time associate, has been sacked with immediate effect.

It is the second time Valcke has been dismissed by Fifa. In 2006 a New York judge said Valcke, as head of marketing, had “lied repeatedly” to potential sponsors, with a lawyer saying that among Fifa’s “white lies, commercial lies, bluffs, pure lies, straight untruths and perjury, Mr Valcke even lied when testifying about his lies”. Blatter rehired him eight months later.
