Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

Newspaper reports here (in German language) that there doubts about the planned FIFA election on 26th February to choose a new president.
Seems Blatter is suspended, not fired, and he has not formally resigned.

It is claimed he is trying to extract benefits in return for his formal letter.

We live in interesting times.

If he resigns he will lose the first 6 months of unemployment benefits.

What's that thing you're smoking? His position keeps getting less tenable.

André Marty, speaker of the attorney general less than two weeks ago:
"The attorney general started criminal proceedings against Blatter on criminal mismanagement and embezzlement. This can be punished with up to five years prison."

From this article:
"Die Schweizer Bundesanwaltschaft hatte ein Strafverfahren gegen Blatter wegen ungetreuer Geschäftsbesorgung und Veruntreuung eingeleitet. Dem früheren FIFA-Boss drohen bis zu fünf Jahre Haft."

According to Blick today here in German Language a prosecution lawyer anoounced on ARD TV "An insider/Whistle blower provided us with useful and relevant information to build a case against Blatter"

The case is based on this whistleblower about TV rights sold to Jack Warner. Tagesanzeiger and ARD TV are iterating the same. Further there is the 2 million payment to Platini being investigated.

I think Wolli means that support for Blatter is such that upon hearing of his imminent loss of employment, even people he's never met, such as this André Marty guy, would like to offer him free accommodation for up to five years.

Jérôme Valcke, the suspended secretary general of Fifa and Sepp Blatter’s long-time associate, has been sacked with immediate effect.

It is the second time Valcke has been dismissed by Fifa. In 2006 a New York judge said Valcke, as head of marketing, had “lied repeatedly” to potential sponsors, with a lawyer saying that among Fifa’s “white lies, commercial lies, bluffs, pure lies, straight untruths and perjury, Mr Valcke even lied when testifying about his lies”. Blatter rehired him eight months later.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

From the guardian here
Statement by Blatter; "This condemnation of the Fifa president by the media when I was not responsible for the actions of the members of the executive committee "

Seems to be the usual defence "nobody was responsible for anything!"

Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Those are the people too scared to change their view on anything. Come to think of it, there are plenty of them... Better watch what I write then.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

I just watched a great documentary on Arte, France's only decent television channel, on FIFA's miserable history - loads of interviews. What a shame that no-one from FIFA itself chose to speak. It's the Mafia without the guns.

Suspensions of Blatter and Platini confirmed but reduced from 8 years to 6 years.

How so? Has Sepp been installed in the museum as a permanent exhibit?
