Paradeplatz to become SEPP BLATTER PLATZ
Preferably a large statue with one hand pointing at the HQ of the United Bandits of Switzerland

No connection with any organisation with similar initials

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

Looks like FIFA is just the tip of the iceberg?

Guardian today;
"Up to now the investigation into wrongdoing at the International Association of Athletics Federations has led to multiple arrests including that of the former president Lamine Diack and an international warrant being issued for his son, the organisation’s former marketing consultant Papa Massata Diack. However, it is now understood that French financial prosecutors are also looking into the bidding processes that concluded in 2009 with the 2016 Olympics being awarded to Rio de Janeiro and in 2013 with the 2020 Games being awarded to Tokyo.

It is the first sign that the crisis may spread beyond the IAAF and create serious issues for the International Olympic Committee!"

it started with the father of all sports corruption, Avery Brundage, who headed the Olympic Commttee from 1952 to 1972

it seems limited to the Diack issue but the problem is getting bigger and will last longer.

Meanwhile over at the IAAF;
The World Anti-Doping Agency has said it is “dismayed” by the latest allegations made by the German broadcaster ARD of violations of doping rules in Russia.

And for World tennis the Russian Maria Sharapova will be provisionally suspended from tennis after the five-time Grand Slam winner revealed she failed a drugs test at this year’s Australian Open.

So another Russian that will not compete at the Olympics in Rio

Unlikely to be just her.

"What is meldonium?
It is meant for angina patients but athletes like it because it helps their endurance and ability to recover from intensive exercise.

It is on the banned list now because Wada started seeing it in lots of samples and found it does have performance-enhancing properties.

It was on Wada's 'watchlist' for over a year and added to the banned list on 1 January.

Made in Latvia, it is widely available - without prescription and at low cost - in many east European countries, but it is not licensed in most western countries, including the United States.

It is thought that hundreds of athletes have been using it and there are a lot more cases in the pipeline."

The only question is how many will be suspended/banned before the Games and how many after?

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

Prosecutors said Miguel Trujillo of Miami has agreed to forfeit $495,000 after admitting to participating in multiple schemes to bribe soccer officials since 2008 while he was licensed by FIFA, the governing body of international soccer, to negotiate and arrange matches between FIFA member associations.

The government said Trujillo worked on behalf of multiple sports marketing companies and his own soccer business when he paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to bribe high-ranking officials of FIFA and four soccer federations in Central America and the Caribbean.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

I was sitting next to Infantino on a plane from ZRH to GVA last week. Upon landing, he walked with his backpack through the terminal like a normal guy, paid his parking ticket and drove off with a colleague.

This would have never happened under Blattler, he would have a whole entourage to carry his bags and sneaked out using VIP services. It starts at the top.

I hope Infantino can keep it up once the money gets waved at him.

What he says in this interview might have been trustworthy a few years ago if he had stepped down on his own decision.

Now however, after he's fought tooth and nail to remain in power, it sounds just hollow, rehearsed. The only part I'm willing to accept as truthful is that about (phony) friends.

quite trustworthy are his statements about his spell in intensive care and some other remarks. He carefully avoided his previous power struggle about FIFA. NOT to be believed are his words about Mr Platini who turned from a friend to an enemy

Football’s governing body Fifa revealed on Thursday that it paid its disgraced former president Sepp Blatter 3.63 million Swiss francs (£2.6m) last year as it published his salary for the first time under new governance regulations, normally he also got a performance bonus but not last year.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

Fifa could face another crisis after the Panama Papers revealed an apparent conflict of interest at the heart of the ethics committee supposed to clean it up.

The documents – part of a huge data leak from the law firm Mossack Fonseca, which helps clients set up companies in offshore tax regimes – show links between Juan Pedro Damiani, a Uruguayan lawyer and long-serving member of the ethics committee, and Eugenio Figueredo, a former senior Fifa vice-president recently accused of corruption. The links are far more extensive and for much longer than previously known.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

I'm also reading up now at the huge Panama leakage, oh boy is this going to stir up things for a lot of people i think, also more Fifa people will no longer be able to keep up their stories anymore. Given that the Icelandian prime-minister already resigned very shortly after he was confronted with some of the leaked info i think the conclusion that the info is authentic can be justified.

We'll see how things evolve, in the end they just will rol out fine, and they might be in luck that even bigger head might draw most of the attention the next weeks in the papers. And they might get off with just firing some more people, and say sorry 20 times.
