Re: Dangerous Man on the loose

Hi,

This is truly scary to read, I must admit I don't read the papers here so missed this story.

I do hope he is caught soon. The other scenario is also pretty scary, someone taking the law into their own hands and mistaking an innocent guy for this man, it could happen.

Re: Dangerous Man on the loose

Just the look in his eyes coupled with crimes against a child (which 95% or more are multiple offenders/not rehabilitatable) should be enough to avoid taking this dude out for picnics without arms. Of course, in a culture where women have so much less power, it's not surprising to treat someone who rapes them as less serious than other offenders. As a parent, I have a hard time suppressing the idea that anyone who rapes a child should get a bullet to the head first rather than risk other children suffering at the same hands later.

no bullet to good besides watch a discovery channel show yet about prisons. child molesters and people hurting their mothers are in for a big surprise when they go to jail. it is even so bad they have a jail within the jail for them......I d like to beleive that is better for them

Re: Dangerous Man on the loose

This has really spooked people...Just got through the building front door after an evening at the Viadukt and a Swiss Lady rushed in behind us, she felt a man (possibly this man) was following her , and she just wanted to get off the street to let him pass...

Even in Geneva, people are kinda looking in a suspicious way to any bold men in town....it's not anymore Switzerland as we once knew it

Thankfully they've caught him. Most Swiss news sites have just reported that he's been arrested. I hope it's the last time he'll ever leave the prison walls

Read all about it.

The headlines in short:

"Swiss cops only half as incompetent as the general mood on EF thread would have you believe...."

I just read the update on the Baz too. I'm hugely relieved as I'm sure everyone else is, but I think the mood on EF came from the fact that he got away to begin with.
I can understand why transporting a highly dangerous criminal with insufficient caution would tick people off.
I've spent the last fews days checking doors and windows and calculating in my head how easy it would be for this man to get anywhere is Switzerland in a short time.

Re: Dangerous Man on the loose

Relief here as we are just over the hill from where he escaped, and where he was found. I now 1 member who will be pleased to hear where he was caught! or rather gave himself up.

Hopefully the right questions will be asked and procedure changed!

If you were that worried then I would keep up your diligence.

Your chances of being murdered in your sleep are only marginally smaller now that this chap has been captured.

Re: Dangerous Man on the loose

but he wasn't even captured, no? he turned himself in! he obviously didn't even get so far from where he started and he in only in custody because he asked people to call the police to come and get him!

this has to be the most ridiculous thing- how can the police not have found him when he was so close and if he didn't turn himself in, he probably never would've been caught. i think at this point, i have absolutely no faith in the police here-

I wonder what he made of the world after almost 25yrs in prison. Maybe that's why he gave himself up.

Covering a few km's of the Swiss Jura, from Montalchez to Les Rasses, he wouldn't have seen many changes, lol.

I know, I told myself the same sort of thing. It was because I read what he had done, and it got to me really badly.
