No doubt there is special Kamikaze insurance needed to cover this.

I'm sorry, this is a terrible thing that happened, but who said the Swiss have no sense of humor?

I also love the irony of Phil MCR's "signature" in this thread

And if you are going to kill yourself and possibly others with a plane, choose one that's diesel-powered - it's more ecologically responsible...

Who said bunkers basements are worthless...?

Schmidt's body was later found in the rubble of the house. His mother Rosemary, 68, only survived because she was in the basement at the time of the suicide attack, and is being treated for shock.

Mind you, if not, she could have been in bed dying with flew !

<boom crash>

Yeah, funny, but only in English. I can't figure any way to make it sound funny in Swiss German.

Which -- again -- proves that the Swiss have no sense of humor.

Humour or not humour, what he said apparently was "ich chome grad värbii" which might rather be translated as "I will just come over". It anyway is a rather horrible family tragedy

Am I the only one who find it just sad and not funny at all? And mexicans do have great sense of humor but tragedy doesnt go with it.
Poor woman, its bad enough that your child comits suicide but aiming you? :mad:

Fairly safe to assume he didn't survive.

No, you are NOT the only one, as the matter indeed IS very sad. Add to this how much the man must have hated his mother. :o

Which means that this paper missed THE point of the matter.

The UK paper also said that they had a conversation before the crash. However swissinfo has police saying that the mother and son did not in fact talk to each other before he crashed. They are also condemning all the speculation.

The statement of the police makes sense. It is interesting however that they did NOT deny the pilot to have made a phone call before departure. To launch speculation about what may have been a harmless call to the meteo-service for example indeed does not make much sense.

Bit of a waste of a perfectly decent DA-42 Diamond. Nice airplane, flown in a couple myself.

Here's the initial report.
