The young SVP (UDC) from Wallis (Valais) have managed to get a mention in the Sun! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...se-poster.html | The following 3 users would like to thank IronAngle for this useful post: | |

And, why do they steal somebody else's art work, too..
Aren't there enough enticing drug dealers to pose for them, say at Yverdon train station park/parking lot?!

Raise your hand if you want your children to be like Amy Winehouse....
No one? Then why is everyone complaining. She could have done alot more alive than dead.
Is it really tasteless to learn from others mistakes? No one wants their children to end up like that, and no one should think of this person as a roll model. She did this to her self.

She didn't do anything to have her face plastered all over some myopic and tact immune political campaign, all done a few weeks after her death. Young folks can avoid drugs without having somebody's dignity exploited. Why underestimate them like this? To score political points? What the campaign is teaching them is mockery and finger pointing, zero respect for human tragedy.
I wouldn't want my child to end up like those Yverdone junkies either, but wouldn't like to see the photos of their unfortunate faces abused in ill executed campaign, either.

It is not a reason to be insensitive for the family and friends to Amy.
The point of SVP isn't to be nice and PC, they do what they do to shock and insult. They want reactions, good or bad as long as people talk about them. Talking about them give them more power.

Yes.... Actually she did. She was the face of CRACK for the last 10 years in the UK. Obviously there is a reason for them using her picture. I got the message and Im sure everyone else did as well.

I do not think plastering some addict's photo is going to really serve as a deterrent to those who might soak up some wisdom from it. There isn't any. Why rub somebody's disease in even more..
The difference is, I do not think they are actually really trying to warn against drugs at all. To reach out to a foreign dead celebrity to make themselves visible, is probably less prosecutable than reaching out and using photo of their own people in their own homeland. Crap does not happen only abroad. It's the boredom here or elsewhere that breeds mischief, and a few nasty pics of people from abroad aren't going to change it.

I don`t believe the intent of this article was to be disrespectful to her memory, or to be insensitive to her family. It was to say this is what drugs can do to you, no matter who you are. And I do believe lessons can be learnt.

Re the lesson can be learnt thought...I think there is a reason why packs of ciggies in countries that allow this carry pics of cancer tongues/lungs/teeth without actually identifying the person who died of the disease.

1. The poster is at present only online. Most people have not seen this tasteless ugly creation. After seeing this, sane people can only move further away from the UDC/SVP. They are re-creating a "Clockwork Orange" mentality. http://www.udc-valais.ch/?p=3164
2. Why is this interesting to Sun readers? It is in French! Most Sun readers have problems with English for goodness sake!
3. The Sun writes < AN ANTI drugs poster featuring tragic singer Amy Winehouse has been branded "tasteless and disrespectful" by angry fans.> so the Sun has pulled itself deeper into the Murdoch gutter. Google translation of the French wording:
Drugs: a dead-end voice
Published August 3, 2011.
The death of the famous singer Amy Winehouse and media reminded us a sad fact often forgotten by some political parties: the ravages of drugs.
A few months of the renewal of the federal Parliament, it is important to highlight the permissive policy of the left and green on drugs. For example, in 2006 already, the Socialist Party announced its desire for the decriminalization of all drugs for adults as well as the decriminalization of cannabis for young people.
Such proposals border on indecency and send a very sad signal to our youth and our society.
Today, only the UDC takes a clear policy against drugs, that fight (in deeds and not just in theory) the trivialization of substances whose dangers are well known.

I do believe it is tasteless and really untimely. Still, she will always be remembered like that, because she lived like that and it is all very sad.
On the other hand could they not use the picture of someone from CH? I mean if they really want to make a point...

I actually think that the bloodthirsty fascination with human tragedy will eventually wear off and the tabloid photos will slowly disappear while her songs will still be played on radios for quite a while..People go for art and forget the wrong lifestyles. I do not think they need to be reminded the way campaign is trying to and directly after her tragic death.

I know for me, it is not his music...
the fact that Amy's most popular song was Rehab (and I say no no no) just will make it even harder.
Havind said that, I was sorry to hear of her passing away btu I also felt upset at how can somebody let herself down so much...hopefully this will be a wake up call for some, that does not mean people should use this for their profit (refering to SVP)

So. Kurt Cobain, yeah, music. I could care less how people live, their biz, they were not putting up a pose, performing for us, all the drama. When you listen to her stuff, though, she was so true to what she was singing, so the self destructiveness did not shock me. Nor did other similar deaths. Saddening, how lonely one can be, without any hope and help, disillusion. It's a phenomenon in a society, and substance abuse is just a partial symptom of this. The attempts to market her death into cheap moralizing does shock me, though. Yodels.

Does anyone else remember the ad for Dona Flor Guarana that Cine-Guide Genève had in their weekly brochure (Week of 17th to 23rd February 2010) with a similar photo of Amy Winehouse? As you can tell I kept it! At that time I was amused because she did look like she could use a pick-me-up. The tastelessness is in the timing.

I remember the poster in Zurich HB that had an advert for a ladies watch that had 2 faces; I think one digital & one analogue. It was named the "two timer" & was illustrated with a photo that looked very much like Princess Diane.
