That you apparently do not care about the difference may in fact be POSITIVE, but nevertheless does matter in the end, to a remarkable extent. To put it the other way round, your apparently being of Russian origin possibly is far more important than your being Jewish.
You want to test it ? Go to TLV,. check the quarters of that great city and its restaurants and you will get what I mean
