In the latest commercial the SVP, shows how attractive their voters are. Here, the opponent of mass immigration have cast a model with a migration background. "When it comes to criminals who are naturalized, the SVP (Swiss People's Party) considers them not "real" Swiss. When it comes to beautiful women, it looks a bit different. Starting this week is a commercial running in cinemas from the SVP. Three swimmers turn away in disgust from a muscular man. And at the end a sonorous voice from behind the scenes, states that Swiss women chose the SVP".
Im trying to figure out how on earth you/they missed the message/point/topic in that ad (ie you completely omit to say 'why' they turned away). Half truths

I saw this recently, might even have been at the cinema, can't say anyone seemed too phased by it. It's simply anti-EU, something I wholeheartedly agree with, as a matter of fact.
.
Exactly ... that was my impression! Nothing to do with race.
Showing the girl in the white bikini - who is so obviously not "born & bred" swiss - well..... that gives the impression of an "us" vs EU.
The constant moaning about a legal political party exercising its perfectly legal right to advertise its policies, however, is getting just a little bit tiresome.
They could always leave the country if they don't like it!

Yes. In South Africa they (we) have a bit more extreme advertising ... with songs being sung by aspiring leaders ... containing words like "Kill them" ......
Here .... they are just pictures and words open to interpretations and discussions.
My initial comment was not about the advert itself- but about the fact that a political party, any party- feels it has the right to interfere and impose on a rare night out to the cinema. What next, tablemats with their posters in restaurants, ads on TV, on the back of theatre programmes, or flash ads at music gigs, stickers on rental skis?
Lets hope people get so sick to the backteeth with those invasive intrusions in our daily lives, especially our leisure, and turn the tide against them.
I've actually seen the ad- and yes it couldn't be called 'racist'. Very clever to have an 'obvious' foreigner as a star to counter the 'racist' stance of previous posters, of course. But it is so crass and corny.
'Real values' - how pathetic. Jean Giono must be turning in his grave.

Much prefer to see a film on a big screen - a special treat. I still go to my local cinema, the one I went to as a kid- it has been revamped a bit, but it is still the same. Next time I go I'll talk to the owner (great that it is not part of a chain- so we customers can discuss this and influence the programme to some extent, wonderful. Including our Ciné-Club where I was a founder member in the early 60s). If she decides to run the adverts- which I am almost sure she won't- we will definitely make sure she knows how we feel.
Mind you, I and so many others would object to any political advertising at the cinema, irrespective of Party.
Ofcourse massive immigration should be stopped in Switzerland.
No non swiss should ever be allowed to come live work and get citizenship here, or date marry swiss women or men. It should be forbidden, just like Swiss people never go to other countries to live, immigrate, marry, date the locals from there. So we need to learn from their example.
Oh realy...! You people (or most of you anyway) are absolutely impossible!
The swiss do not want to become part of the EU - that is the SVP message to its voters.
Being one of the few EU countries who still have a work ethic, who actually get up in the mornings and spend time at work - full time - and who also work extra unpaid hours to support their companies should they be battling with the import/export trade in the current situation ....... well ... they are just not too happy about having to finanacially support other countries where the folk retire at +- 52, who have afternoon siestas, and whose governments can`t seem to budget their budgets ... and who stand at the seashores waiting with open arms for boatloads of refugees who are fleeing from their own out-of-control countries.....and then parcel them out to their fellow EU countries to support - including the non-EU Switzerland (which just happens to be one of the tiniest countries - and one of the very few countries that is still actually functioning).

...and of course Switzerland want to still be able to harboring money in their banks from 3rd world dictactors and old nazi gold ...which would probably not be possible if they would join EU!
Last time I checked, although in EU, Denmark, Finland and Sweden are working quite ok
I'm not saying EU is a good thing the way it is today, but there is SO much misinformation from SVP...it's insane
