Re: SVP politician gets cake in face

Nope, you based your qualification of Freysinger as a "neonazi" on the antifa website. Antifa (at least part of it in the Netherlands) is known for their view that anybody who is not on their far left wing side is a "nazi" and that violence against such a person is justified. You seemed to agree with that rhetoric (granted that doesn't say whether you agree with the rest of their ideas/ violence too).

The pie incident with Fortuyn was the upbeat to a campaign against Fortuyn that led to a guy feeling justified to kill him. In that way it was not harmless (even less taking into account that it was a pie filled with animal sh!t, oh my god, how funny).

I am all for throwing (real) pies, I get suspicious when humorless politically motivated nincompoops start throwing them to political opponents.

btw, you really liked the "antifa buddies", didn't you

My Antifa buddies? Because I posted a link about Freysinger??
So according to your logic Simon_ch would have to be a member of Riposte laïque and chucking cakes leads straight to murder?

Please guys get over yourselves. A bit of humour hasn't hurt anyone.

Simon_CH I understand he's Swiss but I thought Dutch people would have some sense of humour

Nope, as the OP pointed out, you quoted the Antifa-numbwits as a secondary source to prove your point. My source however was a primary source of what you called a Neonazi group. Hope that makes it clearer...

And re: humour... stupidity alone isn't funny, you need to try harder

Exsqueeze me? I provided a couple of "reputable" other links as well which all say that the organisations he held speeches at are linked to "Rechtsextremismus". Can you please show me where I said that he was a Neonazi? In my intital post I merely said that I'm worried that this guy is meeting in this circles. Please read and think before you post.

And where did I agree with the Antifa rethoric? I merely provided a (although somewhat biased) source/article.

I never said that throwing shit filled pies was funny. I'm talking about real ones. You probably didn't watch the first video I posted. You just wanted to split hairs ...

Yeah and you failed to comment on any of the credible sources I posted which clearly state that the organisation you refer to are considered "rechtsextrem" and are being watched by the authorities.
But I guess you only see what you want to see

Re: SVP politician gets cake in face

I looked up your post and fair enough, you didn't call Freysinger a neonazi, it was actually your antifa buddies (sorry, bad atempt at Dutch humor) on their website mentioning that the SVP was more or less at the same level as neonazis.

And no, I didn't want to split hairs. I merely pointed out that pie throwing is not as ueberlol-harmless as its seems with, amongst others the murder of Fortuyn in mind (and by the way, what good did that do now the Dutch have Freysinger's shining example and anti islam buddy in the center of power in NL, but that's another discussion).

If you can't engage your political opponents without throwing pies or shoes or molotov cocktails, why should anyone listen to you?
Agreed. If anything, this just makes him look like a victim, and the attacker an idiot. I remember watching the UK pre-election debate and Nick Griffin wasn't given a chance to say anything without being shouted down or insulted. One guy in the audience even stood up to ask a question and said "DICK Griffin... oh, I mean Nick Griffin...". What a tosser. You want someone you consider to have idiotic views to look like a fool? Let him speak. All that did for me was turn me off the "anti Griffin" brigade.

Agreed Kamarate- and I am sure Oskar will make the very best of the 'sympathy/victim' thing. Wonder if the SVP/UDC will actually use the event for a new poster!
