The SP has done quite a good and intelligent posters campaigns addressing REAL problems and real issues. Far more creative than the boring repetive rubbish from the SVP

Funnily enough, it was the Syndique of Villars-sur-Glâne who banned the wearing of the veil in the schools here. Guess which party?

I'm not so sure. One of the SP posters in Bern is just some geezer holding a rose. Maybe he's looking for a date?
This was NOT one of the posters I meant. Holding a rose ? The rose is the party-symbol of them

According to the WEBsite a member of the FDP.
What is wrong with this ban ? I think it is the right thing to do.

Wrong. Erika Schnyder is a socialist.

What's right about the ban?

Sorry, looked at the wrong table, being used to a "City President"
--
présidente du Conseil général de Villars-sur-Glâne :
2011-2012 Corinne Fässler (PLR)
--
syndic de Villars-sur-Glâne :
Erika Schnyder (PS) (2006-...)
-
The Social-Democrats are the ones who fight for equality between males and females.

The ban is needed to stop arch-conservative chaps pressing through their views, and repressing more progressive people.

-
and back to the top : what actually IS the Conseil Général ?

If you check my posting history, most of it is frivolous and flippant rubbish, often designed to offend the easily-offended. I'm not sure where I come from is entirely relevant though.
Having said that, I still think socialists are scumbags. I'm possibly tainted by a former neighbour who called the police on us because of a Christmas Day dinner party many moons ago, who is now a leading SP politician in Fribourg. He's still a tosser.
Yes this incident surely defines socialists as the scum of the earth...
and rightfully so...who are they to talk about the same rights for everyone, to support the weak ones in our society, affordable health care for everybody, same rights and salaries between women and men...horrible people...to hell with them....to hell with them all!!!!

a "load of cock" ? beside the point that such should not be the language of a teacher some points ARE right

as the SP is supporting
the same rights for everyone
support for the weak ones in society
affordable health care for everybody
same rights and salaries between women and men
affordable apartments for everybody
affordable and efficient public transport for everybody
free and good education for all children

curtailing xenophobism

I see it more as trying to control every facet of our lives, from how many hours we work, through irresponsible political correctness to making us pay for the lazy and feckless of the earth. Maybe the neighbour example is not the best (just very personal ), but my own country has been decimated economically and socially by 17-odd years of socialist governement. And now they are in opposition, they are screaming blue murder at the present government which is trying to fix the mess.

If we're on about the UK there's no difference between the turds of one party and another, still brown and stink. Thatcher started the greed, tony/brown turned a blind eye and the current lot are sweeping it under the carpet and expecting everyone to pay bar their mates in shiny tall buildings.

Viva the US model, roll on sleeping on the street while the rich + corporations get richer, while the rest of the UK work themselves to the bone to increase corporate profits.

None of these current parties represent the average john, jane or crossdresser.

Wise and street smart! Incredible! How can I get your insight? More postings on the EF? Because that must clearly define the level of a persons intellect, and verified by the amounts of "thanks"...can't stop applauding!

Err, I feel a bit embarrassed to pee on your parade, but for the benefit of those like yourself who have no memory or history of the world pre-1979, the UK actually predates Margaret Thatcher.

Greed in the UK: likewise.

Christian values are not characterised by any one particular political view. Many socialist ideals are compatible with Christianity. Many conservative ideas are likewise compatible. Liberals however, are a bunch of bleeding heart, wishy-washy, sandal-wearing, bearded, hippy tree-huggers.

I really like this poster, but defacing the posters of even the SVP is, I feel, somewhat undemocratic.

I see that JuSo supporters have been defacing not only SVP posters, but everyone else's as well. Nice people.

I think defacing posters is all part of the open expression of democratic views.

Otherwise the only views you get to see belong to the limited group of people with enough money to buy up all the poster sites.

Fair point. But if it's de rigeur, then whomever can employ enough bullyboys with spray cans wins the debate.
