Next time you're not happy with your job, think of the poor buggers currently involved in the building of the new underground station under Zurich HB.
As part of the new "Durchmesserlinie" which will bring a direct tunnel from Hauptbahnhof to Oerlikon a new 4-track station is being built 16m under the existing main station in full operation. In order to do so, each track was reduced for a little while to first build the roof of the new station before excavating it out and building the arrival hall. While there is good progress on this amazing project, there is one minor (but very ugly) detail that they didn't consider when they started building:
Although almost all new trains have internal chemical toilets, some of the older models still use the old-school dump in on the tracks toilets. Especially during peak hours when SBB has to put on special trains, some of these trains still enter Zurich main station. While you are not supposed to use the toilets in the station, some people inevitably do, which means the toilet waste is dumped directly to the building site beneath where people are busy working and not expecting any blessings from above...

This issue has been around for some time now and while SBB immeadiately built a temporary plastic roof, only most of the waste could be stopped and especially during heavy rain, a lot of the excrement has apparently been washed down to the workplace below. Other measures, such as locking the toilets have also not been satisfactory and today UNIA has had enough and
withdrew all the labourers from the multi-billion dollar project.
So, think of the poor fellows next time you're upset with your boss or your co-workers (or for that matter need to go to the toilet in the main station) and try to see the positive side: You could have excrement dripping on your head...
