New IKEA in Rothenburg (Opening 9.Nov)

Yes, always useful & now close to Luzern (the nearest before being Spreitenbach or Bern & a pain to get to)...

Opens on wednesday next week, anyone going on the opening day?

Link here (sorry in D)

You might also go to Conforama

I much prefer Conforama to Ikea any time

I was there but only saw electrical dept. Must take a better look next time I'm near Emmen Centre.

Like many small businesses I use IKEA for office furniture, mousepads, plastic mats, etc which is down to budgets so is a great help it is nearer.

Opening day? Nope, not that crazy. But probably in the following weeks. I can catch a direct bus about 3 minutes walk from home. Or just walk there, in < 20 minutes. This may not be a good thing.

I went to the new ALDI on Saturday, and that was still intense, two days after opening.

Tastes differ. I twice went through IKEA and shuddered all the time as their style to me looks "dirt" ......

The Ikea in Rothenburg will be open on 13 November for Sunday shopping, according to the store page (German, of course).

Yikes Wolli.... that must be the 1st time anyone has used taste and Conforama in the same sentence. Most of it looks as tasteful as the set of Miami Vice, unless you are partial to not wearing socks and rolling your jacket sleeves up. Next you'l be telling us about the many different tastes of Swiss cheese

But do you want seriously tell me that IKEA is better than Conforama or MIcasa or TopTip ? True, Top Tip is a bit more expensive.

And do you want to say that all the various Swiss cheeses taste the same ? or that all Italian cheeses taste the same ? or all French cheeses ?

Re: New IKEA in Rothenburg (Opening 9.Nov)

Conforama is notorious for poor quality fittings, bad packaging, missing parts and instructions that when they are for the product they are packed with, are slightly less than useless. The customer services they offer is also majorly dire even for Switzerland. So yes Ikea, MiCasa, and Tip Top are superior in almost every department that matters... bit like other countries cheese
