Neuchatel vs Zurich, which one is more intercultural?

hey
just spotted the following article about intercultural cities, interesting result, especially seeing as Zurich has always been thought to be more intercultural. Zurich did come third though.

so Neuchatel vs Zurich, why is Neuchatel more multicultural? I didn't even think it was that big, well not to be counted as a City.

I wouldn't call Neuchatel a city either.
I live here and find it quite hard to believe it came first. I guess we must have just fitted all they criteria they used for that survey.

There does seem to be quite an influx of people moving here at the moment though so perhaps that's why.

Well, seeing intercultural means between cultures, and if you say you're "between jobs", that's really a euphemism for not having a job, what is being "intercultural" about? Is Neuchatel really like that?

Maybe it would look good if we started talking about the interemployment rate rather thann the unemployment rate. It might fool some of the punters. Mind you, I'm only being interserious.

As a Neuchâtel resident I must admit also that I am suprised to find good old Neuch so high up in the index. However when you look a little closer and find that they selected 29 "cities" with lewisham representing the United Kingdom I think you get an idea of how they might come up with this result. however Switzerland is well represented with Geneva, Neuch and Zurich.

No cities from France though which is suprising although they do mention Lyon in the text.

Here is a link to the full report:

Amazing! Im living here about 4 years and it is hard to believe Neuchatel is the first intercultural city in the world, Maybe London,Paris, even Geneva, but Neuchatel? the city if you speak German or English (almost)nobody answers you!
