Re: 18 yr old boy missing from St Legier - after walking out of school

What agony for the parents. I live near the border so will look out for him walking past or hitch-hiking. My thoughts are with them - all fingers crossed. He is probably at a friends, and will turn up soon. (I did- and so did one of my daughter's).

Thank you everyone for keeping an eye out - he is a pupil at Haut Lac.

On the news report there was an anon posting that he was seen in Lausanne - I hope it was true

Re: 18 yr old boy missing from St Legier - after walking out of school

This is thread is about my son most people know him as 'N'. It is true that he was spotted in Lausanne this morning, and there were multiple sightings of him in Vevey this morning as well. As much as a relief it is to know that he is still here somewhere, however, he has still not been found.

There are several parents and friends that spent yesterday and were up all night looking for him. It looks like it will be the same tonight, unless we can find where he is sleeping.

We think, based on the timing of the sightings in the different places, that he probably spent the night in Lausanne and took the train to Vevey this morning. According to the police, he was seen at Lausanne gare between 7.30 and 8.30 (I don't know the precise time), and was first seen walking through the vieille ville of Vevey around 9.00 or maybe a little after. The police have used dogs to track him yesterday and today, but they lose the scent at one of the local train stations on the line that runs up from Vevey, or Vevey gare, or somewhere in Vevey.

So although the situation is much better than last night, when we did not know anything, we are still worried about him and are still trying desperately to locate him.

If anyone knows ANYTHING or has any idea at all, please do not hesitate to post here, email me, or phone the police either at 117 or 021 644 4444. And please also keep your eyes open.

Thank you all very much.

Re: 18 yr old boy missing from St Legier - after walking out of school

So pleased to hear that N has been spotted - thank you for letting us know.

I hope for you and your family that he is found and home with you very very soon.

I understand some of the pain you are going through - my own son went missing from HL for about 5 hours last year and it was the most horrendous time.

If you need help with looking for him - please please do say so - we are in Vevey and willing to help in anyway we can.

x

So sorry to hear all of this.

It might be useful to check the bars which play the particular music he likes or the restaurants that serve the kind of food he likes( indian, pizza, etc.)

I have never thought I would say that but "luckily" most of the shops are closed in the evenings in Switzerland, so you would have a better chance on spotting him.

I don't care if this sounds rude, but: note that it's not always wise to put someone else's picture on the public internet due to privacy reasons, also in this case.

I hope you find him soon and healthy, I pray for him.

I was wondering are there not any cameras that police can check around those areas he was seen? Maybe a security camera of a shop, etc?

I understand - the reason we included it was it has been published by the police and was available on the news sites. If this had not been the case I would not have relinked it.

I believe the police are very involved and looking at many ways of finding him.

Fingers crossed

We provided photos to the police, and with our permission they provided them to the press. The original post links to an article that has the picture displayed. There is also a print picture in the 24 heures article, and a television announcement that has been made.

As his parents, we have requested the police to disseminate his picture widely, as we believe this can only help in locating him.

I do not believe that the OP has done anything wrong. She did not post anything that was not available already, and what was available already was provided willingly and knowing that it would be posted everywhere.

I understand privacy concerns. However, our biggest concern is in locating my son. If anyone's privacy has been violated, it is our family that has done it and not the OP.

Thank you for your concern.

Yes, we are working on this kind of lead, his friends have visited and distributed his picture to most shops/restaurants in Vevey, and several in Lausanne and Montreux.

my dear, the most important thing is that everyone see this picture of your boy and that way they can recognize him and bring him home... don't worry about these kinds of comments. our thoughts are with you

When N is home safe and sound we will remove the image then.

Until then, we need as many people as possible to get a look at N and help bring him home
