SVP bid to create second class citizens

Seems the SVP Zurich proposed to create second class citizens by marking the passports of naturalized Swiss as such (versus Swiss by birth). The proposal was defeated.

maybe they should propose that foreigners should wear large armbands in public so that they can be identified more easily (e.g. when crimes are committed).

Re: SVP bid to create second class citizens

Ah, SVP taking another leaf from the manual written by the defunct Big Model Party in the Big Northern Canton.

Another "tried and tested" method is to forcibly give people second (or third) names. How about "Sara" and "Israel" while we're at it, given that these are the historical precedcent (DE - Google translation)?

In the same tone comes an tweet, allegedly posted by Alexander Müller, condoned by Urs Fehr, which calls for a new Kristallnacht.

I will just use Max Liebermanns words "Ich kann gar nicht so viel fressen, wie ich kotzen möchte" - "I cannot feed as much as I like to throw up"

Of course many senior SVP people would fall under the second class definition if the definition goes back far enough up the family tree.

Shurely a variant of "I will decide who is a foreigner!" or something?

Perhaps tattooing of numbers and/or branding of all Auslanders should also be considered.

Re: SVP bid to create second class citizens

My good people,

do you really think that there could be any ideological link between SVP and Nazi Germany?

Might be a personal thing, but I think not in the slightest.

I'm no SVP supporter, I'm against that silly proposal (luckily the Zurich girl and her party are stupid enough to come up with crap like that so they never get votes from naturalized Swiss or their descendants so +- 60% of CH's inhabitants - unless they are very stupid),

but actually in quite every country of the world you get somewhere on your ID a position like "place of birth", "race" or whatever, i.e. information on where a person might come from.

Switzerland is none of those countries.

Huh? Come again? "Place of birth" has nothing to do with race or origin, I know a blonde blue-eyed Swedish guy born in Nairobi.

As for "your race is in your passport", actually no, it isn't in any halfway decent country. Same goes for "religion". And no country distinguishes those who obtained citizenship by birth and those who are naturalised full citizens.

SVP show their hand when they explain their motive. They believe that crime statistics would show that naturalised Swiss commit more crimes that "Swiss by birth", but have no means to prove it - because for now, a Swiss is a Swiss, whether by birth or otherwise. So the whole exercise is just a prelude to another scaremongering-fuelled referendum campaign, probably aimed at stripping criminals of their citizenship.

I love statistics:
100% of nazis were Germans born and raised in Germany, so one should forbid Germans to be born and raised in Germany.
100% of fraud in Switzerland is done under Swiss law, so one should not have Swiss law in Switzerland.
Love it.

Re: SVP bid to create second class citizens

Oh what a load of old bollocks! Even the Swiss know Blochers forefathers were German.

I am Swiss of English origin according to my papers. So what! If you want to jump on the SVP bandwagon, just feel insulted for every slight they make about the non-Swiss living here. If you like it here and want to make it your home, just be a decent citizen. Your Swiss neighbor wont have a problem with that.

Tired and irritated at some of the expats who believe in all the posturing and bow down to it, or even worse become angry what ever bloody place you've decided to become a victim in.
Ask your self something.... did you ever reach out to your foreign neighbor at home?

and still

Sweden is a good example of how it shouldn't work. If you take blonde blue-eyed and Nairobi, you got 2 extrema; but what if we are talking Beirut and a dark-eyed (or Nairobi and a black citizen)? And Swedish personal identity number being publicly accessible, one can easily deduct the ancestors' homeland.

I wouldn' be so sure about that (probably you are right if you mean "officially"),

however, Switzerland does not distinguish, and - that's my point from before - in the contrary to other countries like Sweden, does not even give a clue on ancestry.

About "SVP show their hand when they explain their motive. They believe that crime statistics would show that naturalised Swiss commit more crimes that "Swiss by birth""

Well I guess the SVP are becoming the experts on this topic with an increasing number of their senior people suspected of serious crimes
