Thanks Do you have any recommendations? It really needs to be a day trip by public transport
I mean, if you depart out of Cornavin in the very early morning, you will be in Zch HB at 10AM, so that you can do whatever, depending on your interests, and then in the afternoon get over to the market. And depart in early evening at 8pm and be back in Geneva at 11pm

And while the "Wolf" was mentioned I would rather recommend the "Johanniter" at Niederdorfstrasse nearby or the Zeughauskeller close to Paradeplatz. Or, for a difference, the "Ziegel Oh Lac" in the Rote Fabrik

He is a bouvier appenzel cross. Im sure zurich is a dog friendly place. The problem is that he is also a very friendly mutt and gets excited in the sight of anything. When he is older and has calmed diwn a bit i will bring him over as well

Re: The Zurich HB Market. Unfair article in Tages Anzeiger.

Thanks to everyone here who came by to say hello yesterday!

First impressions by me.....

There were a lot more stalls and everyone seemed to have made an effort, the place was brighter and had a much nicer atmosphere than previously and the new management made an effort to come round and welcome us all personally and asked for our feedback on any problems or areas where they could improve. A welcome change from the previous management.

From the new stalls, the Swiss AOC island was particularly nice and Berg Und Tal (who also have a shop in the Viadukt) had a fabulous stall with speciality grilled sausages - not the bland mass produced one that were in the market previously. They also serve excellent coffee and schnapps.

Most of the regular customers who did visit us didn't even know the market was back on, they just chanced on it as they were passing through, so more communication is needed. However, the SBB marketing people were there with the press so hopefully that will change next week.

We're happy with our new position and we're pretty close to the communal picnic tables... maybe it's time to start another regular market drinks evening - with no nutty woman telling us that we're not allowed to.

All in all I'm very happy with the changes, and even though it was pretty quiet during the day, a very busy evening meant that takings were higher than any Wednesday last year.

Hope to see some more of you next Tuesday!

EDIT: Full list of dates for 2013 are on this link

Just a quick update, the market will now stay open until 8pm as before, more time for beer!

Re: The Zurich HB Market. Unfair article in Tages Anzeiger.

After a 4 week break for Oktoberfest the market is back on today.

There's only 4 more markets this year before the Christmas market starts. This year the market on Tuesdays hasn't really lived up to expectations (too many other markets in town on a Tuesday) and we had decided that if it continues on Tuesdays we would not be coming back. But the SBB has backed down and finally agreed to move it back to Wednesdays from next February. Good news for all of us stallholders!

What's the current status of the HB Market? I think it was on Wednesdays last year... I went once in February I think..

Do they still have it regularly?

Re: The Zurich HB Market. Unfair article in Tages Anzeiger.

here is the list of the dates

http://www.sbb.ch/bahnhof-services/a...hof-markt.html

For interested parties:

There are a 3 new stalls with Italian food and a new Mexican Tacos

The other food stalls have been there before:
- Chinese soup dishes
- Chinese Bao (Wesley's Kitchen)
- Indian dishes
- Libanon
- Tibet
- Crepes with ham and Ruccola (forgot how they are called)
- the usual Swiss food stalls
- one or the other that I forgot about

and there are still some empty spaces

And presently there is only 1 table for people who only want to sit and eat their food and not order something to drink. If you are looking for the coldest and draftiest place in the hall - that's where they usually place that table
