SOCAR started to replace ESSO

SOCAR has started to replace ESSO (after more than 60 years) now also visibly in the Zürich region. The transition will be finished by mid 2013

It now looks like this

with a nice new logo

It will stay SOCAR only as they want to place their brand into Switzerland firmly. But ESSO, incorporated in Switzerland under the ESSO name in 1950, the year I was born !! was well known to everybody ever since, even dominating into the 60ies. But yes, people will get used to the new name, some will even regard it as a new company of the Migros Group.

Well, "ESSO" is gone
