the SVP lost another federal public vote

the SVP supported the referendum against a new law improving the fight against animal diseases, and clearly lost. SVP president Brunner accepted the decision of the electorate and said that his party will respect this decision

Only because I, like many, didn't show up to vote because of the issues they deleted from the ballot.

YES, he could have claimed in the usual SVP way that the voters were MISlead by the propaganda of the other side

Re: the SVP lost another federal public vote

I'm assuming the SVP was trying to get federal laws passed quarantining animals entering Switzerland, similar to what Great Britain used to have to make sure rabies did not enter the country. But I don't know. Does anybody have a link to an article about this initiative?

They deleted the votes on the Rubiks agreements (they papers I received still mentioned them). I was interested in voting on those.

Who cares about the vaccination thing?

(apparently, nearly 3/4 of voters didn't bother to vote on this pressing issue, second lowest turn out in history)

Tom

Not really a typical SVP position, that's something you hear from the left but Brunner & co. carefully try not to patronize voters too much by insinuating they've been missled. That would undermine their own positioning as a resistance force against elitist-leftists.
