Which means Swiss state signature is worth nothing more than a three year agreement. Fair enough, there is nothing wrong with not signing anything with this country. I am fine with having the border guards looking at my underwear every morning. I am not shy.

Nothing is agreed upon forever, and for people to insinuate that there were no warning signs leading up to this initiative is plain misleading - or at best these people just were not aware of the signs themselves.
I'd say the warning signs were widely ignored, especially by politicians, and now they act all surprised. The initiative was a platform, drastic enough to wake people up. Everything more moderate or careful would have had no effect whatsoever.

And please, some here make it sound as if we were building a wall around Switzerland

The country is changing its mind about what it voted for earlier and this is what pisses of Germany.
Anything that pisses off Germany if a good thing.

The scumbags steal data, they should all burn in hell.

Pity that there is no hell.

Foreign money doesn't matter.

Besides, the Euro is tanking, and will soon be worth nothing.

Well if you don't think that the "protection and preservation of Swiss cultural heritage is a good thing" then I completely understand why you would be opposed to the initiative - and why you would be opposed to everything which would attempt to do the aforementioned.

Additionally if you are opposed to the "protection and preservation of Swiss cultural heritage" I personally would see this as being very ill-mannered in a country hosting you. - But I understand why many here would welcome your stance, if indeed this is it.
About "Additionally if you are opposed to the "protection and preservation of Swiss cultural heritage" I personally would see this as being very ill-mannered in a country hosting you."

Ill-mannered because my views are different from yours?

Do you see Swiss cultural heritage as perfect and nobody should propose changes?

And what means "in a country hosting you."? I pay my way.

This Swiss cultural heritage has changed a lot for the better in recent years, for example, in the last 50 years women got to vote.
Who knows what other improvements will emerge, maybe we will even see women with a proper role in Sechseläuten.

"Ill-mannered" because it is generally not good manners for a guest to cast dispersions on the cultural heritage of his/her hosts. And you might pay your way here, but you are nevertheless a guest - albeit a paying one - which is desirable, but which does not afford you equal footing to citizens of the host nation ... But I am sure you already are fully aware of this ...

I have talked at length in previous posts on what my stance is regarding cultural changes and what I believe is the right way for those to come about.

That would be 8 years as per his/her previous posting. A lot can happen in 8 years ...

Yes, of course more can happen: I can get more funding.

And, as a reaction to this initiative, I can get way more super qualified foreigners in that will even do very well to your country. .

It does not matter how bureaucratically difficult it will be. We have a secretary for that.

By the way:
It is more 7.5 years now.

Be careful with the speed limits.
The Swiss are more Catholic than the Pope, I've heard.

Same here.
Although I wonder if it is worth getting a citizenship of a country that has an obvious agenda.
