Looks pretty green to me - it might still change, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
OTOH - we only need about 9k more NO's to reach the YESes
I does not use the preliminary numbers from Vaud (only Monteux missing). So far a surplus of 21k No from there.

Whatch my numbers.

Re: "For the couple and the family" initiative

Biel/Bienne is in and added some No's. Only Bern-Mittelland is missing in Bern.
No news from Montreux. Expect an other No there. Freddie would be ashamed.

Now it is a surplus of 15.3k No.

Re: "For the couple and the family" initiative

"Final" numbers from Geneva (have to be checked for correctness before really final)
http://www.ge.ch/votations/20160228/federal/details/01/

Now a surplus of 16.3k No.

So will married people pay less tax than non married couple or did the whole gay straight thing screw up everything?

It looks like majority of the people have decided that equality is more important than financial gain. But, counting is not done yet and inequality might still win.

Possible but very unlikely. If the City of Bern votes similar as Zurich or Basel it alone will add another ~30k No.

It is decided. Dismissed.
So we are at 54k No. (Montreux may add another 1k.)

It's up to Vaud, as the NO is now 30k votes ahead.

Re: "For the couple and the family" initiative

It looks like it is going to be No (Vaud still counting votes).

I have 3 doubts with regards to this initiative:
1.- In case it is finally No, can the same proposal without the "marriage=union between man and woman" in the text be voted again?
2.- In case it is finally Yes, can a new proposal remove that part of the text somehow?
3.- In case it is Yes (or in case it is Yes in the future with a broader meaning of marriage), taxes would be raised for everyone not being part of a double income marriage, correct?

1. Yes. Somebody has to collect signatures of 100k voters in 18 Months.
2. Yes. Somebody has to collect signatures of 100k voters in 18 Months.
3. Nobody knows. Different ways how you could make it "fair". It would be up to the parliament and the cantons to put in into tax law.

One way to make it fair would be to raise taxes for co-habitating couples to that of married couples.

I suggest they raise taxes from pensioners in the Ticino area.
