| | Vote on allowing easier citizenship for third generation
Guess which political party has produced these posters
They say stop citizenship for criminals and I guess the burka poster is self explanatory.
Quite why one says "yes" and the other "no" is beyond me!

The first poster is from a Canton Bern vote from 2013, initiated by the Young-SVP Bern, which passed with 56% yes. http://www.20min.ch/schweiz/bern/story/13617166 | The following 5 users would like to thank aSwissInTheUS for this useful post: | |

Tom, as you well know, there are 100s Burkas on SVP posters than in Switzerland. This is a totally shameful Poster campaign- perhaps the worst ever by the SVP/UDC
And yes, it has nothing to do with the subject - at all- nought, zilch, nada, zéro...
Communes/Gemeinde will be able to influence and even refuse if they have good reasons to do so. All we are talking about here is facilitated naturalisation for those whose parents and grand-parents were born here.
Makes me feel sick and ashamed.

Tom | | | | | I have yet to see one anywhere around here, so I say it's a negligible "risk"
Aside from that I just shrug at the SVP's posters. That is not worth getting upset over. They want to provoke, it always works, on both ends. They're not worth my energy
The initiative doesn't say every third-generation foreigner will get automatic citizenship. Just says it's easier to get it and really, that's only fair. Chances that someone whose parents and grandparents have already lived here is not integrated at all are really pretty close to zero. The odd exception may apply.
