The tremor was short but enough to shake the bed and wake the baby in the crib next to me... am I nuts? happened about 21:14.

Anyone else notice anything? Does Switzerland even get earthquakes?
Love that you're in bed already too my 2 (baby and 3 year old) are both still asleep and snoring!

In case you haven't noticed, we live in a relatively earthquake-prone region. When arriving here, I put the rattling windows and shaking bed down to either spiritual forces or noisy neighbours.

But yes, earthquakes are a potential hazard for Switzerland. About 500 earthquakes are registered here per year.

Didn't feel that last one you described, but here a link that might interest you:

Nope, you're not crazy.

It's real.

Their website is down, which is the best indicator.

Felt it here, too. Was quite a surreal feeling.
Last time I felt an Earthquake was a couple of years ago in Chile, the husband and I ran out of the apartment, me pantless. Thankfully there was no repeat this time

So it wasn't the neighbours slamming doors again? Thank goodness for EF - saving me from storming upstairs and aggressively leaving a postit note...

The replies to the tweet are hilarious:

"Can we expect more earthquakes?"

"Are more earthquakes coming?"

Re: Earthquake?

Just told my wife about this and I said that must be the reason a picture fell off our living room wall.

She said "but that was last night"!

Yes, the official website is currently down, probably because everybody is trying to access it: http://www.seismo.ethz.ch/de/home/

However, this website also provides accurate data: http://www.emsc-csem.org/#2
It registered 4.7 on the Richter scale.
The official site seems to be working again.
