Naturalization 2018

Dear members,

A quick question: how does the new law that comes into effect in 2018 affect spouses of swiss citizens with a B permit? According to different articles, only holders of a C permit will be elligible to apply for regular naturalization. But I haven't found anything regarding facilitated naturalization in the new Law.

Did I miss something?

Many thanx!

Re: Naturalization 2018

Persons applying for facilitated naturalisation by virtue of marriage are not subject to the C permit requirement.

Re: Naturalization 2018

Here's some info on before vs after 1/1/2018 requirements in ZH city but I am not sure about the difference between assisted and regular naturalisation. It may be a good place to dig around for more info. If only they had a Q&A flow chart to show the requirements for one's individual circumstances it would be so much easier to understand ones situation.

Indeed, following your posts I got in touch with the State Secretariat in charge of Migration (SEM) and the confirmed that the C permit requirement is not a requirement for foreign spouses wishing to apply for Facilitated Naturalization. Basically, article 27 and 28 of the Law on Nationality will remain unchanged.
