2017's WEF theme was "Responsive and Responsible Leadership"... No wonder Trump didn't showed up

Yes. He might be unfit for the job in every respect, but he surely isn't anyone's puppet.

Despite all the disasters around the health insurance and no wall being built as of now... or Clinton in jail as promised... he does in fact change the US much more and much faster than most recognize over here. That tax law is a massive change... so is his, um, view on foreign policies from North Korea to Jerusalem. All the stuff people are laughing about is having actual impacts. The Sum is quite impressive given how few laws he passed for it...

Probably the best protest is simply not to turn up. Empty seats seem to be a major tantrum trigger for him.

He was the president-elect and busy showing up at his inauguration instead.

Although Davos did have the task of hosting Scaramucci. Joe Biden and John Kerry were also there.

Claiming it is both independent and impartial, the WEF claims it is committed to improving the state of the world. What a sham.

I saw on Tagesschau last night that it's going to cost the Swiss government CHF 9 million in added security for him. What's the weather forecast for Davos?

Experience shows that he always bows to protests and changes his mind when people protest.

On the other hand he never believes anything on Fox news.

So the protesters here are doing the right thing. Protest rather than hijack the Fox news studio.

It's always so reassuring to see people have a plan.

Taking US media out of the scenario, if you can watch programmes from last night on catch up, please watch how SRF1 are reporting this. They did a short feature on how much previous demonstrations have cost the government in terms of policing and damage caused. I get the distinct impression that the Swiss aren't too thrilled at Trump coming over.

With all the disruption the whole davos thing causes, and has been causing year on year, and that in prime winter holiday season, I'm surprised the authorities haven't pulled the rug on the whole thing years ago. Surely there are more suitable locations.

If it takes Trump to make that particular coin drop, that's abother piece of sanity he has restored.

I doubt that Trump's presence will change anything, those nutters always find a reason to demonstrate and cause chaos at the WEF.

This indeed, Those nutheads don't need Trump to act stupid and declare how they want an equal world for all by destroying other people's belongings. I do hope that the police will wrap their stick with an extra layer of lead this time.

Eben when their hero Obama was president, they still protested. They will never be happy, no matter what happens. So all business as usual as far as I can see.
