Re: Women Fight (for) Freedom - Frauen erkämpfen Freiheit Zurich 10 March

UPDATE March 12, 2018, 1:47 pm

Major property damage after illegal women's demo (Supplement to the press release of 10 March 2018, 6:06 pm: property damage after unauthorized demonstration in circles 1 and 4)
On Saturday afternoon, 10 March 2018, around 1000 people participated in an unauthorized demonstration in the city center. Although the protesters, including many women with children, caused property damage of more than 100,000 francs, the police did not intervene for reasons of proportionality. The city police is now examining with the security department whether and which measures must be ordered in the coming year to prevent these intolerable conditions.

On the occasion of the unauthorized demonstrations in connection with the International Women's Day, which have been going on for years, the participants unfortunately suffered massive property damage in the form of spray painting, poster gluing and paint-bag thieves. In addition to the Fraumünster church, façades and shop windows on the Limmatquai, on Paradeplatz, along Bahnhofstrasse, in the area of Löwenplatz and in district 4 on the Langstrasse and Lagerstrasse were also affected. Because many women with children and sometimes toddlers in strollers participated in the demonstration, the police renounced for reasons of proportionality to an intervention and a corresponding allocation of funds.

On the basis of received reports and criminal charges as well as initial estimates of the police, the damage inflicted should amount to more than 100,000 francs. Contrary to certain media reports, there are currently no reports of broken windows or damaged vehicles. Already last year, on the occasion of the same unauthorized demonstration, massive property damage of similar magnitude occurred. Detectives of the city police Zurich have commenced investigations.

In Circle 4, two demonstrators who had been forcibly climbed over a building fence were stopped and controlled by the police. One of the women was temporarily arrested for trespassing. Demographic material was secured for two other women.

"the police did not intervene for reasons of proportionality."

Shouldn't that be intersectionality?

"Massive property damage" seems to be a bit of spray painting, putting up posters and trespassing.

CHF 100,000 damages? Someone is taking the piss with a bucket of soapy water and a scraper...

100K?? FFS...

Re: Women Fight (for) Freedom - Frauen erkämpfen Freiheit Zurich 10 March

in the video you can see that in less than 3 minutes they damaged 3 large buildings.

I would guesstimate that each damage costs a few thousand to clean/repair back like to new

multiply that by about 30 buildings and it makes sense...

The Fraumünster church is made of sandstone. Reportedly it's difficult to clean/repair, that alone is estimated to cost 50k.

Shhh... you didn't see the prawns they left behind the radiators in UBS on Friday afternoon...

Slow burn.
P.S. Now-a-days the secret is to just leave it in your little portable cubicle that you are supposed to drag with you to your hot-desk on a daily basis, once you've been 're-organised' based on being over 50 and female
