hahaha, but daylight saving doesn't actually save daylight, it just makes my mornings dark and depressing and my body clock angry.
What are you saying? It's been stated here already, we actually lose daylight in summer!

By the way, if your body clock continues to have psychological issues throughout the whole of summer time, you need to consult an horologist.

I'm saying I'm going to make posters and protest this outrageous system. Daylight cannot be saved. Life is an existential carousel.

The German word for that is Urologe.

Nothing to do with him. This was a public consultation by the EU and is what most people wanted. Suits me - it was what I asked for in the poll as well. Who wants it getting dark at 19:30 or so in the summer???

Outdoor photographic film developers. But admittedly, their numbers are dwindling.

I see you ninja-edited, although not ninja enough, and without bringing any support to your trollgument whatsoever. But, stupidity or not, without summer time the sun would have set in Basel before 19:30 (even earlier, further south) every day from 22 August onward this year -- which I'm sure you'll agree is well within summer.

Actually, no. 21 June is the first day of summer. It is the day with the longest period of daylight, but we're talking about summer time here.

People complained about the heat this summer but they also want more hours of sunlight after they finish work

Yes, that's why you, other Australians and Americans call it daylight saving. Not heat saving. It's the daylight we're all looking for. Swimming in the Rhine at 9:00 pm is one way of enjoying both. Working in the office at 8:00 am while it's broad daylight outside is a waste of daylight.

And now we know what people really want - a 35h work week.

That's the standard working week in Australia, where's there's lots of daylight to go around. See any correlation...?

And in December you can expect the sun to come up at 9am if they dont put the clocks back!! So ein scheiss! So where is energy saved. One has to have the lights on longer in the morning. Puts Zürich on the level of Moscow in Winter. Thank the shit EU for this.

Again, that was the desire of the people who bothered to answer the survey.

It's what most people want. What part of that do you not get?
