Screw that. I use my own time zone: sun rises at 6:30 AM and sets at 6:30 PM. The length of the second is different every day. The current time changes depending on where in the world you are. During the equinoxes, my watch matches everyone elses.

And its not dark in Switzerland at 4pm. More fake news! The sun sets at 5pm!
In early December the sun will set in Basel at 16:38 -- and that's not even the northernmost point of Switzerland.

And as for your beloved morning sunlight, the sun won't rise till 08:17. May as well have no sunlight in the morning at all, it's too late by then.

Permanent daylight saving would allow most people to go home in daylight, year-round.

I get up at 7:15, shower, and am at work at 7:30!

I don't eat breakfast.

The extreme is probably Rorschach at 16:30. Furthest point to the north-east.

Maybe they just like to see each other and spend a few minutes together in the morning. Some couples are like that. Me, I can't get enough time with my wife and family.

That's exactly what I do. My wife works at the cytology lab at a hospital, and leaves the house at 6:20AM. So I get up at 5:45 to have breakfast with her...well, 3 or 4 times a week. Sometimes I sleep a little longer.

No one's forcing you to go to bed so early, are they? I don't understand why you'd blame an arbitrary timekeeping system when you have the perfect solution at hand - just wait until it's dark before going to bed. Or fit some decent curtains or blinds.

Spend the money for some proper room-darkening curtains. You'll be much happier.

Why do they have it in the first place? Out of curiosity. The UK adopted it during the first world war and just kept it. When did Switzerland start it?
