Mad Heidi: the sickest Swiss film ever not yet made

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eWiB6X-Fho

Looking for crowd funding to complete production, Mad Heidi has already claimed its first casualty (the firing of the script writer from his police job.) It's also causing a huge headache for Swiss products such as Victorinox and Toblerone.

It's a sick, over-the-top satire on Swiss Nazis, discrimination and fondue-boarding here in idyllic Switzerland. It curdled the contents in my stomach. I suppose there are some who will find this entertaining but I found it revolting.

If this kind of film appeals to you, Mad Heidi is looking for funds....

I am looking forward to it!

Also, originally they wanted to call it "Heidi-Land", but that name is already taken.

Re: Mad Heidi: the sickest Swiss film ever not yet made

Just watched it with some local Swiss (age 45+). We were all suitably shocked, although maybe I was most of all. Watching those beloved Swiss products becoming tools of terrorism.... I just don't have the stomach for it.

This is definitely not a MacGuyver kind of film.

Re: Mad Heidi: the sickest Swiss film ever not yet made

It was originally called Heidiland: https://www.englishforum.ch/daily-li...ion-movie.html

But they were sued by the region and renamed it to Mad Heidi...

If you were the owner/representative of a famous Swiss product, would you want it in this film?

Depends on the product. Fondue is too generic… are you talking about Toblerone? Thats owned by Americans. They like action movies...

I thought there was no such thing as bad publicity?

Anyway, Toblerone is American now anyway and the scenes depicted in the film are a way of life there so I shouldn't think they care.

I bet a subset of Americans think it's a documentary.

Its a genre, just like Marvel movies and Tarantino. Get over it.

OK - Sam Raimi, then, with a cameo from a chainsaw wielding Bruce Campbell!
