A fast Brit for a change

Anybody we know? In any case it seems he did not get the memo.
Basically he went 154 in a 80 zone and they threw the book at him, License gone, 6000 Chuffs fine and the car impounded.

Not sure if this should be part of the serious speeding thread or first world problem thread.

Re: A fast Brit for a change

He wasn't fined CHF 6000, he had to pay a CHF 6000 deposit (the actual fine may be higher or lower).

Another EV in action? Only electric vehicles’ owners have nerve to accelerate on narrow roads with such impudence.

I do hope the fine is eye watering and he doesn't get the car back.
It's probably on finance or PCH so it will be returned though.

I was caught with 60 in a 50 zone... was stopped and got off without charge, as I was driving an unmotorized vehicle !

Seems speeding limits are only enforced with motorized vehicles, as told by the police officer. So you will be fine....

Oh dear. Here’s how my story goes ...

Once, I was inspired by Hussein Bolt’s ground breaking speed and was doing 35kmh in 30kmh zone. They flashed me and contacted me later to congratulate me for an achieved result. As a punishment, they made me join the local and then national running team ...

Re: A fast Brit for a change

I really don't understand how / why fellow brits come here and do stupid speeds, its not exactly a secret that switzerland isn't tolerant to it and the punishments are huge, if anything they got off light as they avoided jail (so far)

Apparently, the rental / lease / contract purchase car is fastest form of 4 wheel transport on the planet.

There's usually a bunch of threads running on Pistonheads about draconian, pesky, nazi, burocratic Swiss police spoiling drivers' fun.

Apparently the authorities get unreasonably agitated with British drivers who just want to race in convoy through Swiss tunnels and mountain passes.

Who'd have known?
