The question is: what vendor do they choose now?
Plenty to choose from. Läderach is not the only chocolatier in the village.

Aeschbach, for example, who make the chocolate coins use organic UTZ an fairtrade beans.

Re: Laderach (Läderach)... run by anti-gay and anti-abortion religious fundamentalist

It's a modern problem that having rights simply isn't sufficient anymore. Many activists don't believe in "live and let live", they're more into "agree with us on everything or face boycott, shaming and the long arm of the law".

We've seen it with same-sex marriages, that legislation wasn’t enough. The next steps is forcing churches to officiate them, forcing wedding planners to serve them, forcing wedding venues to cater for them and firing people for speaking against them.

Where have you been living? Under a rock? This has been going on for literally generations around the world.

This is irrelevant to the thread but in any case... The law is there to prevent discriminating on sexual orientation so I'm not sure why you think there should be pockets of businesses and the church that think they should be so special they can be exempt.

This isn't 1958.

It's an eye-opener to see what people are revealing about themselves in this thread, though...

For quite a few people it's nothing we either already didn't suspect or weren't fully aware of.

Re: Laderach (Läderach)... run by anti-gay and anti-abortion religious fundamentalist

Has anyone sought Mr Läderach's views?

He seems the sort of rational, tolerant fella who would wholeheartedly agree with the boycott of his company. Not sure why people on here are getting indignant on his behalf without even knowing his position.

Swiss were a partner with Läderach since 10 years... that says a lot about how acceptable his views and related activities are.

They don't care about those views, those views have been known for years so nothing new. They care about the current publicity it gets.

Also it concerns such small amount of Chocolate that it imho is not worthy of reaching the newspapers.

Don't dare to compare this successful non-violent protests with others
Don't dare to compare this successful boycott with others

It has a tendency to cause anaspepsia, frasmosis and pericombobulation in the alt-righters.

You would have to be extremely simple-minded to not think it newsworthy to Swiss people and newspapers that the biggest airline in Switzerland has stopped working with one of the most famous producers of gourmet chocolate in Switzerland, because of views over abortion and homosexuality. The amount of actual physical chocolate involved means nothing to the story, that should be mind-numbingly obvious.

It's about as newsworthy as Swiss news gets.

It's ok, they're just as fluffy and cuddly with their peaceful boycott of Coke. Aww... they're big softies with their heartfelt virtue-signalling.

They did not stop due to these views, those views have been known for years so clearly that ain't the reason. They stop due to the bad publicity and are afraid it might effect how people view their airline while blaming the views they have not found to be a problem for years.

Bunch of hypocrites, but people will love it and see them as crusaders of equal rights...

how many people knew swiss used Läderach anyway? granted I didn't take much notice of the packet but isn't it just a small piece in a swiss flag wrapper?

Swiss never mentioned it was Läderach. And yes, just a tiny bit of chocolate with the Swiss emblem on it.

A bit tricky when their home country still doesn't grant full equality to homosexuals.
