...... btw - I've still never eaten any Läderach chocolate. So far as I know. So I'm obviously superior to you lot who have eaten it and are now boycotting it.
Not really as you can't miss what you don't know.

I - as usually - did it the other way around. The first time I tried it was after the outcry on EF started.

Are they going to stop flying to/from countries which practice discrimination against homosexuality?
LOL. An other grounding then.

There are of course tons of nice and sensible people on this forum whose opinions I respect (even if I don't agree with them on everything), they just overall do not seem to have the levels of time and persistence as the 'others' to engage in posting online, so don't get to make their voices heard as much as the You's, CHUFF, FMF's, CHUFF, BB2's, CHUFF, omtstats, CHUFF, St2Lemans, CHUFF, MC's, CHUFF, gaburkos, CHUFF, chuff chuff.
Hey, I thanked you in a post this week, you ungreatfull sod

LOL I'm still living rent free in your head

As for being definitively labelled a 'Guardian reader
Calm down tiger. I didn't label you a Guardian reader, I just said that was the image I had of you in my head. Funny thing - it seems here that some view me as an alt-right boomer, whereas on another forum I frequent, I'm viewed as a left wing millenial snowflake remoaning, yes, Guardian reader.

My online persona is actually pretty damn similar to my real-life one... the main difference is that in real-life (unlike on this forum where I knowingly choose to participate) I do not voluntarily surround myself with people whose intellect and opinions I have nothing but contempt for. Here on this forum it is pretty much impossible to avoid (even using the ignore feature) reading the sometimes frightening thoughts of a vocal portion of the membership who I can only assume possess various degrees of social ineptitude, sociopathy, narcissism, unintelligence, ignorance, or even sometimes a mixture of all of the above. There is such a staggering amount of utter guff written on these forums when it comes to any political, sensitive or controversial topic that not calling it out when I see it is simply not an option and I expect nothing less in return.

There are of course tons of nice and sensible people on this forum whose opinions I respect (even if I don't agree with them on everything), they just overall do not seem to have the levels of time and persistence as the 'others' to engage in posting online, so don't get to make their voices heard as much as the You's, FMF's, BB2's, omtstats, St2Lemans, MC's, gaburkos etc etc.

As for being definitively labelled a 'Guardian reader'...

I assure you that I am as neutral in political views as can be... I read right-wing trash like The Daily Mail, left-wing publications like The Guardian, and then all of the shades of grey inbetween. I don't believe in veering far towards left or right because it's an imbalanced stance and completely illogical. Some things require a liberal stance and some things a conservative one.
Best laugh I’ve had all day.

I think the only thing that ever grated on me was in the US when some would quickly identify themselves, upon introduction, as NPR listener and New Yorker reader. Why caricature oneself right from the start? Before any subject of conversation can even come up..

Cliches are amusing.

Because it happens to conveniently fit with the thread?

Come on, it's a bit fanciful to suddenly remember that people you met in the US gave you a run down of their political leanings as soon as you'd shook hands and been introduced?

Does anyone REALLY do that? And I don't mean for the context and convenience of this thread's subject matter.

"Hi, I'm John. Nice to meet you. You should be aware I read the New Yorker"

Yes, you get labeled or "suspicious" once you start to challenge other points of view. People assume a lot of things.

Swiss were a partner with Läderach since 10 years... that says a lot about how acceptable his views and related activities are.
You Swiss now, all of a sudden?

They really are. Your response is a cliche.

Most Uni students I‘ve met don‘t have time to read the New Yorker, anyway....which I’ve always liked to read myself. But I listen to jazz. Oops. Cliche?

Oh absolutely. Like the phds and faculty I hang out with. Or the lib arts students.

I used to prefer Harper's, but wouldn't start introducing myself by that info. Which was my point.
