There are numerous fantastic chocolatiers in this country, none of which feel the need to find fundamentalist Christian propaganda.

Is it written on the wrapper for the airline passengers? Do they care? Ask them after they put it in their mouth.

This exactly.

I also think that if Swiss was really Swiss, it would serve Laderach no matter what, because it is good local chocolate. I actually do not think that they are being clever in their pretended concern.
Naaa, Läderach is not all that well known (yeah, well, by now it might be ). I wouldn't be surprised if some Swiss passengers muttered something like "we got chocolate but it wasn't even the real thing" after getting their handout.

So the benefit of this allegedly political/sociocritical statement is much higher for Swiss than handing out Läderach chocolate. Not to mention that there are so many more choices of suppliers for it.

According to Migros' advertising, Frey is the most loved chocolate world wide - imagine the savings on the ad budget from now on.
And can it get more Swiss than Migros?

It absolutely can. And too easily.

As long as I still hear my LGBTQ friends complain about being harassed for holding hands in public or being told that they are just disgusting, I'd rather a large company sends what some perceive to be a virtue signal than none at all.

Are they harrassed by Swiss passengers?

While I understand your reasoning...Sex ed here starts so early. There are actually efficient campaigns here that address the lack of tolerance. The same people who cannot behave respectfully and in a civil manner will not only have problems with LGBTQ but myriad of other things. I don't think they are the most receptive to general gestures that run in media for a day, in fact they get even more closed off from any reasoning. Maybe their grandkids will tell them what they learn in school about tolerance and civil behavior. In exchange for some Laderach. But shaming somebody for shaming somebody else has never worked.

I have many friends who are jazz musicians, just not my thing.
My dad is a jazz musician (modern and inaccessible in my view, but there your go). His obsession with jazz put me right off, but then when my kids started listening to it and explaining the musicality, I now find some kinds of jazz rather nice to listen to.

Nice.

He's not the only one....but I didn't expect anything less from some characters.

Hiring overqualified and hard working women you're gonna pay poorly doesn't exactly absolve you of accusations of misogyny. It's funny how these people cling to the weakest arguments. But it's internet after all. Everything goes.....apparently.

Try online jazz channels...soft background music, it will grow on you. It is very stimulating.

Or, the opposite, dig in trumpet jazz, I am obsessing over it. Well, have been a few years. I. Maalouf.

They also hire overqualified men, both gay and straight in these positions, so not sure it is entirely misogynistic.

Of course, underpaid or not, the lifestyle must appeal to enough people for them to fill their cabin crew quotas. My boss' wife was a long time stewardess on Swiss and then Edelweiss, now working on the admin side and she did confirm the pay is worse than someone working on a till at Aldi. You of course get the perks of cheap travel, most of your meals and accommodation paid - but you can basically only afford a room in a flatshare for when you aren't travelling.

Yeah, not everyone is blindly nationalistic.

It might come as a surprise to a few here, but things really changed since 1958.

No change there then.

It's actually a Swiss AG, obviously, based out of Basel, Geneva and Kloten.

You were not here the tragic year 2002, when the entire nation burst into tears? And 2005 when Lufthansa bought Swiss?

Yes, of course it is Swiss AG and based here but Lufthansa owns 100% of the shares.

I'm fully aware of the ownership, however technically (the best way to be right, I am told) it is a Swiss AG that is operating all flights etc.

Like in a few months time when the NHS is owned by Americans - it's still a British institution, right?

I support Arsenal, 100% owned by an (awful, truly awful) American. Does that mean we now throw a pigskin around the gridiron? No, we are still an English, association football team in the Premier League.

Happens all the time.

Do Swiss still see Tolberone as Swiss or do they now see it as US American?
