2 gay dudes and 2 gay girls decide to use insemination to have 2 kids and each couple takes one.

problem solved.

you still fail to provide any valid point. given that artificial insemination keeps taht rule. they can have kids.
Gay marriage could have been "solved" the same way.

Is artificial insemination even permitted for single women (gay or not) in Switzerland yet?

Tom
Why not? Does a woman need a man's approval to have a baby? No. As long as she can have babies out of wedlock....

This thread has run its course. I've certainly learned quite a bit about our fellow members in this thread. Just wanted to address a few points in the close that have to do with legalities:

Have you informed yourself on the LAW in Switzerland regarding homosexual adoption?! The views that I and others expressed is what is currently the law here in Switzerland! This is a SWISS forum is it not!?
Just because it's the law now doesn't mean A) it's a good law that benefits society/children or B) that said law can't or won't be changed in the future.

No, but I resent being called a homophobe when we are resident in a country where homophobia is criminalised and same sex adoptions banned. My stance is not homophobic, as I said originally, I prioritise the rights of children over same sex parents.
I don't believe homosexuality is a criminal offense, given that same-sex couples can register partnerships in Switzerland. If it was criminal, then no one would register because they'd all get convicted of a crime. ;)

Edit - I mis-read the post by TC.

Last I recall, this was true if you wanted the procedure done by a medical professional in Switzerland. However a number of neighboring countries will do insemination regardless of sexual orientation or marital status, and the Swiss can't do anything about it.
