On the contrary, I've just become one!

Anyway, first Trump, then Brexit, and now this!

The world is doomed.

I hear they're planning on banning motorbikes, especially in the warmer cantons such as Ticino!

The Greens are green in name only. They themselves fly everywhere as normal and want to put a tax on everthing to fill their pockets.

Re: Greens surge in today's Swiss election results

I was amused to see this in my FB feed today

"Grün wählen und den billig Handwerker von Deutschland bestellen. Heute in Urdorf gesichtet. you 😡
Choose Green and order the cheap trader of Germany. Spotted in urdorf today. you 😡"

Picture of a German van outside some flats.

That joke made perfect sense four years ago in regards to SVP voters as they at the same time want to protect their domestic market and jobs as well as shop abroad. Why hiring a German contractor is not "green" is not really clear to me? Is it because he has to drive 20 minutes more? Are Swiss plumber more eco? In what way?

That jokes misses that most likely no one knows how the person actually voted. As we know, the person most likely did not vote at all. And indeed, a plumber form Germany which you pay less could be more CO2 friendly than an more expensive Swiss plumber. The lower income of the German plumber allows a less lavish lifestyle. While the Swiss plumber flies to New Zealand with the whole family, the German plumber has to spend holiday on Mallorca at best.

I always thought Swiss plumbers spend their vacations on study trips to Florence to learn about the finer details of Renaissance art...

You mean by artists such as Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael? Aren't they more of Brooklyn fame such as a certain Mario and his brother Luigi?
