What matters is that it is a short, thought-provoking video that could encourage those that may never of heard about The Great Reset to investigate further.
The Great Reset was widely reported in the media in Jan 2020 during the WEF. People can read the facts about it all legitimate news sources. A 5 min twisted synopsis from an organisation asking for your money in return for more of their thoughts, just doesn't hack it.

The Baddiel quote you've posted is laughable. Far more apt in this case are:

It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so. - Mark Twain

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. - Arthur Schopenhauer
I prefer this quote;
“The person who writes for fools is always sure of a large audience.”

Re: Conspiracy beliefs on the rise...

I understand people questioning sources and financing. But then one could get upset at any site and their advertisers/sponsors. They always get it wrong with me. I do not need to buy any property in Vegas.

I think the visible stuff (sources, ads, etc.) is still ok, it is rather transparent and consumers make their choices.

It seems to me that whenever some opinions are hard to accept, understand or imagine, they might be pigeonholed into the "fake news", "stupid" or "conspiracy theory" categories.

opinion

noun

a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

MC, please explain why people should accept a "conspiracy theory" opinion?

You're totally missing the point. The video in question is made be people wanting donations to their cause. It's a money making scheme, not advertising, etc. It's 'join us and give us money' preying on the gullible and scared.

But in this case, this poster has not come up with anything interesting at all. He's just copied and pasted a video.

There is no comment from him at all. This is worst than TikTok. At least in TikTok people make their own videos.
I post this every now and again without comment, when I read something from one of the *ahem* more gifted posters. I’ll remember to tell them so something just went over their head.

Re: Conspiracy beliefs on the rise...

The video Flying Kite posted was populistic propaganda imo. But it made me doing some research on "the great reset", so it did the trick.

<<Never waste a good crisis>>, the Brits have heard that before. And indeed there is nothing wrong to have a few thoughts while going "back to normal" and make use of some observation made during the lock-down times.
I remember seeing this last year (sorry German but you can find reports about Thailand's diving tourist places in English, I'm sure) and thinking that hopefully it will lead them to make changes on how to revive their business once they can. (They will have to make compromises between making the money they seriously need and killing the thing they are actually surviving on and during corona it became visible that the coral reefs would actually play along given a chance).

So a bunch of rich people who are members of a club called WEF have ideas. Good on them! To make the world notice they do, they call it "the great reset", good marketing. That's all. And who knows? They might have a good one here and there that can be implemented? I'm not against that at all. I'm all with Churchill (I did not check what he aimed at with his line back then and I was not alive but it works here too) - let's not waste what we learnt in this unusual covid time and just return 100% to how it was before without thinking.

Flying Kite's video sounded outraged (surprise, surprise) and it gave absolutely no information. But of course it told us firmly what to think about it (was this a CNN production? )

I found an other video, the commentor speaks chirpy for those who need that kind of presentation yet it give a bit more (a bit) information about the ideas. It also tells you - for those who need to be told what to think - the soup is not eaten as hot as it's cooked.

As nobody talks about this "great reset" idea by some group but immediately only about whether it should be allowed to be mentioned at all on EF and - that's an other peculiarity on EF - by whom, I'd voice my opinion and say: YES! It - and other stuff - should be mentioned. And by anybody who wants to. I and most of us are (should be) capable to take the essence (some people have an idea) and leave Flying Kite to quail, if that's what s(he)'s into.

No, that's because of a fault in the space-time continuum. The years have got swapped around.

How else could you explain that the Euro 2020 football competition is being played not in 2020 but in 2021!

I think to fix this year-mix up problem, we need a big (or even a great) reset of the space time continuum. Do you agree?

(I made all that up without a single Youtube video link!)
