Bomb Roboter in use at Zurich HB

Apparently Zurich police has been called for a suspicious item located at Zurich HB. A bomb roboter has been deployed and the investigation/removal of object is still ongoing as of 7:30pm.

Re: Bomb Roboter in use at Zurich HB

I see, most of you are left speechless or are too inebriated to answer. Let me put it into layman terms here: The PoPo in ZH thinks there's a friggin' BOMB at the train station and are at it since 2pm with their remote controlled Tonka toy!!! They blocked and roped off a bunch of stuff and redirected some trams.

I undestood it merely to mean that there is an unidentified, unattended object at the station. Instead of having people walk up to it, they're sending a bomb-detecting robot to go and have a look at it. Whether or not the actual object is a bomb... they don't know, nor have they, as I read it, claimed that. It might be, but it might not be.

Certainly, I agree. But as k_and_e pointed out, 2pm is a long time ago. They should have roped off the area, send over some of those unemployed bomb-detecting pooches from the airport and the whole thing would have been over in 30min, tops (1h with coffee break in between).

The airport dogs work the arrivals, not the departures. They look for illegal sausages and weed and stuff like that.

we arrived at 6 pm to HB fm oerlikon and we saw the police vans, and lots of areas were cordoned off. but if there was a bombscare no one had informed the travellers in HB, many were still milling around and we even went into the migrolino there. our tram had stopped running but we could take the bus back. there were loads of zvv personal on hand to guide ppl but it wasnt till we got back that we found out what had happened.

Actually they got a call around 16:00 and not at 14:00, and they packed up the stuff, took away all their ropes and blockages and moved away 2 hours ago. Everything was already over by the time you decided to create a topic about it.

You're right, Blick mentions 14h.

I'm assuming, that it either has to do with jurisdiction, or bad journalism.

The police states that they got a call around 16h.
