| | US and UK off the quarantine list ? !
So it looks like lots of countries are no longer on the list , does anyone know if than means those of us currently isolating for 10 days are now off the hook and allowed out ? Cant see that mentioned anywhere .... https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home...0KA#1918240392 | This user would like to thank Joolie for this useful post: | |

I think Iˋve just answered my own question
The mandatory quarantine requirement is governed by the list valid at the moment of entry into Switzerland.

Wouldn’t the US be covered by the CH+60 rule?

I wasn’t sure if non-EU citizens were still banned from travelling in, but apparently not. Just 4 European countries have to quarantine and other than that travel as normal it seems.

OK, thanks for that. But will the US let Swiss residents in?

Swiss residents are not permitted to travel to the US at the moment (unless they have a green card) nor are US residents permitted to travel to Switzerland (unless one has a Swiss passport or residency permit) |

Obviously extremely absurd as might as well allow all travel for anyone in all directions, if needed with some quarantine measure or other.

Wow, quarantine list is bare now!
Does anybody know if it's possible to travel through France during the upcoming lockdown?
We're in the UK and need to drive back to Switzerland in the coming weeks.

Ok - so now I have til midnight to decide whether to use my Christmas ticket to the US, or not.
How long do you all think this relaxation of the quarantine list will last?
At issue is that in order to travel to the US I have to bring one of my dogs to Germany and then after returning to CH go up there again to pick him up. A re-imposed quarantine would make that impossible, and thus travel impossible.
So gazing into your crystal balls, do you think the quarantine rules will change again before end of year?

But I am sure if you post where in Germany your dog would be collected, a like-minded pet friend would do you a favour if it all goes to pot.

There are three different rules / limitations: 1. Free to entry:
Travel is possible between Switzerland and the European Union, EFTA countries and the UK. 2. Not allowed to entry / exceptional cases
Citizens and residents of non-Schengen countries, including the US, can enter Switzerland only in exceptional cases. A list of non-Schengen countries not affected by this ban can be found here. Citizens and residents of Switzerland may always enter Switzerland. 3. quarantine (it's not connected to above rules)
Those who come to Switzerland from "high-risk" countries and regions must undergo a ten-day quarantine or face a fine. The list of countries and regions deemed high-risk is updated regularly by the authorities.

| | | | | A good idea, but unfortunately, it's Robin Goodfellow, who cannot be handled by strangers. So if I can't get to Germany, we can't go to the US.
So as my crystal ball remains cloudy, maybe it's time to roll the dice or toss a coin.

Whomp, whomp.

Yep... but if the situation in Switzerland were to improve thanks to the adopted measures, then other countries may earn a place in the list. Now there are two parameters, how is Switzerland doing and how is the other country doing.
