| | Where can I find the differences between Green Party and Green Liberal Party?
Hello!
I start off saying that I am a total beginner at politics but I have been thinking of being more active (even though I am not a citizen yet).
I went through the different parties and thought that a party which puts the environment first is totally something I'd like to be part of. The problem is that one is more Left while the other is positioned Center towards the Right.
Is there any place where I could compare why and how they differ? Just to know which party fits the most with my beliefs, so I could look into joining one.
Thanks!
P.S. Please keep the thread about facts/info and not turn it into a political debate. |

Classic Green is "associated" with SP.
Liberal Green is "associated" with FDP/PLR.
For comparing parties (and also for more information on popular votes) you can use: https://www.parteienkompass.ch/ https://www.smartvote.ch/ https://www.easyvote.ch/ | The following 4 users would like to thank aSwissInTheUS for this useful post: | |

I voted Green Liberal last time.... simplified; because they were less obsessively green than the greens, & they are pro links with the EU.

Surely the best thing is to read their own manifestos?
Another good idea is to see where they stand/stood on referenda, since you can then directly compare with your own opinions on a range of real topics with a simple yes/no response.

On Wikipedia they both had "Pro-EU", is that not the case?

I found the questionnaire only in the "parteinekompass" (all in German, had to Translate it), can I find it in the other 2 sites too? I liked having a form and finding which one I fit best.
P.S. What does "associated" in Switzerland mean?

However pro-EU may mean different things, I'd expect the FDP to be for the status quo whereas for the SP that should mean joining the EU.
Note that the Greens and SP are very feminist, feminist to an extent that makes them sexist and misandrist themselves. They see no problem in requesting an elected member of the national parliament to cede the freshly won seat to a woman for no other reason than him being a (hetero) man. His competence was never in doubt, not even remotely.

What does "associated" in Switzerland mean? | | | | | I just wanted to express that they have similar politics. There is no real connection and those parties are independent.
They are even independent from each other in the federal parliament: https://www.parlament.ch/de/organe/fraktionen
However, in some parliament elections list and sub-list combinations ar possible: https://www.ch.ch/en/elections2019/s...tions-and-sub-
combinations/
You can look up the combinations which were made during the last federal elections here: https://www.bk.admin.ch/bk/fr/home/d...sultate19.html

That, if true, would bother me infinitely. Got any link to support that? I'd like to read more about this event.

The greens persue pretty much the same politics as the SP but with much more emphasies on eviromental protection.
The formation of the green-liberal party has its origins in a dispute within the green party of the canton Zurich some twenty years ago. Some centrist members were no longer willing to support the party's dominating left-wing policies. There have been similar conflicts in the German Green party between the "realos" and the "fundis". So some prominent party members decided to split off in order to found the new green-liberal party. As the environmental isusses have become more and more important, the green-liberals have grown steadily, developing into major national party. They are particulary successful in the cities where they have eaten up the shares of the vote of the SP and FDP.
The green liberals are trying to find a difficult balance between evironmental and economic interests. They support green policies but at the same time they are fiscal conservative and market-friendly.

Ones are realistic, pro-business and down-to-earth environmentalists, the others live in la la land
